Financial Analyst Our client is one of largest retailers in the world. Yet their IT department is nimble and dynamic and works with cutting edge technologies. They are currently in need of a Financial Analyst to manage Technology Projects and monitor/track IT fixed assets using Oracle Cloud ERP. You will also have opportunity to partner closely with IT Finance and Fixed Asset accounting teams. You will be reporting directly to the Manager, Tech Finance. This is a contract to hire position, remote (until Covid) but would be based out of Pleasanton, CA Responsibilities:
- Manage of Technology Projects primarily ensuring that tech projects are administered and accounted for correctly
- Tracks how assets are deployed to stores using several software applications like Oracle and ServiceNow and provide periodic reports
- Coordinate closely between accounting and IT finance teams
- Maintains a thorough understanding of the Oracle Cloud ERP fixed asset module to track IT assets and construction in progress (CIP) account
- Prepare periodic reconciliation of CIP projects necessary to transfer CIP accounts to fixed asset system
- Periodically review IT fixed assets for retirement or impairment
- Monitors activity is the "CIP" general ledger account for IT purchases
- Verify the periodic and year-end procedures for CIP account are completed
- Monitors capital expenditures and provides periodic reports to IT Finance Director/Manager for review, including comparison to budget
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration, required.
- Minimum 5 years' experience in finance, budgeting, and fixed assets.
- Highly proficient with Microsoft Excel and with ability to utilize various functions such as pivot tables, lookups, and dealing with large data sets
- Comfortable working in Oracle and Service Now
- Comfortable coordinating between FP&A, Accounting, and in some cases project teams to ensure proper financial administration of projects
- General understanding of project accounting, including concepts of in-service, construction in progress, depreciation, and assets
- Skilled critical thinking and analytical abilities to reasonably anticipate the needs of those whom the Analyst supports.
