Security Engineer

Please contact Meera Makam at 925 627 4935 or email mmakam@ascentsg.com for any questionsResponsibilities:Update and revise existing security standards, principles, and best practices.Research and develop new security standards based on requirements.Partner with security engineers to develop/update security standards from Technical Security Review requirements and findings.Collaborate with security engineers, project managers, and business partners to identify gaps in security controls where it lacks alignment with security standards and policies.Manage and optimize security documentation so it s easily available and searchable.Collaborates with cross-functional stakeholders as needed.Understands the security exception process and helps business units with the process.Qualifications and experience:Years of experience required: 3+ years in information security spaceBachelor's degree in Information Security, Computer Science, or related field; or equivalent work experience.3+ years of experience in Information Systems, governance, risk, and/or compliance.Relevant security, risk, or technical certification(s) is a plus (i.e. CISSP, Security+, etc.)Experience with NIST framework, CIS Benchmark and knowledge of one or more industry and/or compliance regulations; ISO 27001, SOC I, II, NISt 800-53, PCI-DSSAbility to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a fast-paced environment.Good technical, written, and verbal communication skills.Quick learner, self-starter, and problem solving skills.Strong verbal and written communication skills.Team oriented and skilled in working in a collaborative environmentPlease contact Meera Makam at 925 627 4935 or email mmakam@ascentsg.com for any questions
