Our client is one of largest retailers in the world. Yet their IT department is nimble and dynamic and works with cutting edge technologies. They are currently in need of a Sr Engineering Manager, direct people manager with developer background. Needs to be able to provide direct technical guidance to a development team, but also need to be passionate about leading and developing great teams. Title: Sr Engineering Manager Location: Pleasanton, CA and Dallas, TX Duration: 12 Months Job Description: This is a direct leadership position who will be responsible for leading engineering initiatives, ensuring alignment with business and technical leadership direction, delivery methodologies, program progress and budget tracking, staffing metrics and management. You will work closely with business product and core technology teams, agencies and partners to define and govern products and manage delivery to committed timelines. Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Design and Development

• Have or develop strong domain knowledge in pharmacy and related health and wellness services. Relate to health and pharmacy business leaders and pharmacy operations team to understand vision, strategy, and operational pain points.
• Assume leadership for technology solutions that integrate internally with our core pharmacy systems and vendor partners, identify opportunities, and drive ongoing platform improvement in availability, resiliency, scalability and security.
• Identify and lead technical initiatives to build clean, robust, and performant systems in collaboration with solution, enterprise, and security architecture.

• Staff and lead a team of engineers responsible for delivering health and wellness initiatives.
• Lead, coach, mentor and develop team members to promote high engagement, job satisfaction and retention.
• Mentor software engineers from diverse backgrounds to nurture a culture of ownership, learning, automation, re-use, and engineering efficiency using software design patterns and industry best practices.
• Ensure alignment with the company's standards and procedures for project management, architecture direction, development standards, security requirements and supportability standards including, HIPAA, HITRUST and applicable state, federal and/or regulatory agencies (DEA, State Boards of Pharmacy, etc.).
• Manage both inhouse and large system integration vendors to deliver to defined outcomes on schedule.
• Communicate with clarity, precision and consciousness to Senior Leadership on program status, delivery risks and proactively identity issues to be resolved.

• Collaborate with cross-functional team members from Product, Design, Program Management to define and deliver against quarterly and annual roadmap objectives.
• Collaborate closely with core pharmacy system leads partners to understand their APIs, requirements for integration and lead fast paced projects and stay on top of API and platform updates of core pharmacy systems.
• Handle planning and breaking down large projects into milestones and identifying risks and dependencies.
• Work with program managers, track & manage schedule, budgets, resourcing & communicate project status.

• A minimum of 10 years prior hands-on technical experience
• A minimum of 5 years of technical management experience in a highly complex and large-scale enterprise, preferably within in the healthcare domain.
• Working knowledge from experience delivering or managing information systems supporting one or more functional areas of healthcare and specifically pharmacy is desirable.
• 4+ years of experience working with Agile methodologies and delivery of quality software as part of an Agile team. This includes must have experience of running SCRUM, Kanban or other agile development techniques.
• Some experience with pharmacy security compliance (e.g., HIPAA, GDPR, 21 CFR, GxP etc.) & integration standards (e.g., NCPDP, HL7, etc.)
• Prior experience developing, delivering and managing software solutions and technologies using modern technology platforms (e.g., Object Oriented Development Languages and Tool, Open Source Frameworks, CI/CD Pipeline tools, Databases, App Server Platforms, Integration and Infrastructure Technologies, etc.)
• High energy levels and tolerance for tight deadlines and time pressures.
• Ability to mediate between competing technical priorities; align priorities and goals through collaboration with technical leads and product managers.
• Effectively communicate between teams and within teams to drive alignment and increase effectiveness on delivery.
• Ability to evaluate and communicate different engineering solutions and trade-offs.
• Ability to identify strengths and weaknesses of individuals in order to maximize team effectiveness; provide guidance to individuals when needed for coaching or mentoring.
