In this role, you will be leader in our laboratory, driving organization and efficiency, while executing technical testing with a strong attention to detail, high technical rigor, and a focus on consumer product benefits. You will connect with the Clorox Cat Studio, providing critical data and insights into product performance, directly impacting business results through developing new claims, as well asenabling the launch of new products.Key ResponsibilitiesLaboratory Management

Manage the laboratory, including upkeep and coordination of regular service to ensure good working order of all equipment, maintaining a clean, organized, and well-stocked space, including conducting supply ordering for a group of 10+ scientists

Laboratory Testing Execution

Prepare samples for testing, utilizing laboratory techniques for accurate concentrations solutions, including microbiological media

Follow and execute a variety of laboratory testing following SOPs with a strong attention to detail and focus on safety

Perform data analysis with assistance from scientists utilizing Microsoft Excel & other software tools

Technical Communication & Improvement

Communicate results clearly and accurately with a focus both on technical performance and data, as well as making consumer

perception of product performance

Identify areas of method and SOP improvement, including development of new methods with a focus on efficiency, safety, and consumer-centric connection to technical testing.

Partnership with Analytical & instrumental analysis group to support testing on gas chromatography and other analytical chemical instrumentationKey Skills, Abilities and Experience Required

3 years of experience in laboratory environment, preferably with wet chemistry lab and instrumental analysis equipment.

Experience with a CPG company preferred.

Knowledge and experience working in wet chemistry, analytical chemistry, and biological laboratory environments

Highly organized, self-motivated, with good time management skills required

Strong attention to detail, with a focus on safety in a laboratory environment

Ability to work in a fast paced environment, with shifting priorities

Strong technical laboratory skills, ability to execute technical testing following a protocol to consistently generate reliable, valid data

Safe chemical handling and work in a chemical fume hood, as well as ability to work safety handling biological materials, preferably in a BSL-2 environment

Ability to plan and coordinate equipment maintenance and supply ordering through outside vendors including record keeping and documenting payments/expense reporting

Ability to train others on technical testing, communicating clearly to ensure consistency between laboratory worker techniques

Ability to partner with other technical workers to coordinate testing, with a one-team mentality

Computer skills, including data entry and analysis using Microsoft Excel

Ability to comfortably lift up to 40 lbs.

Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution strongly preferred

Bachelor's degree in physical science field preferred
