T&D is the steward of roughly $19 billion in assets that safely and reliably deliver electricity to 15 million residents via SCE’s 5 million customer accounts.Position OverviewThis position will be an Engineer in the Integration Capacity Analysis (ICA) group within Integrated System Planning (ISP) and will be responsible for performing simulated power flow analysis on SCE’s 4,500+ distribution circuits to determine where distributed energy resources (DER) such as solar and energy storage can be interconnected with minimal impacts. The successful candidate will serve as an Engineer 3 to provide leadership in the development and improvement of the Integration Capacity Analysis process, while interfacing with a variety of internal stakeholders to validate the methodology. As part of the ICA group, the candidate will work within the Distribution Technical Study and Tariff Support group, which is responsible for performing DER interconnection studies, and revising SCE’s interconnection processes to align with regulatory guidance.Typical Responsibilities:
Maintain a series of Python scripts and databases to perform Integration Capacity Analysis for SCE’s 4,500+ distribution circuits
Evaluate the validity of ICA results, identify and resolve issues
Work with IT Teams to publish ICA to SCE’s Distribution Resource Plan External Portal at https://ltmdrpep.sce.com/drpep/
Lead the development of process documentation/creation for corporate initiatives, including regulatory and compliance requirements, and internal stakeholder requirements
Provide technical support to internal and external customers as subject matter experts for various programs and initiatives
Provide training and guidance on programs and initiatives to various stakeholder groups
Maintain a safety conscious work environment by following Edison’s safety protocols and safe work practices in addition to providing support with all other duties assigned

QualificationsMinimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Computer Science
Five or more years of engineering experience
Experience with Python scripting
Experience with electric utility distribution system planning and equipment
Desired Qualifications
Five or more years of experience performing technical/engineering analysis to reach logical and defendable conclusions
Three or more years of electric utility distribution system planning and/or distributed energy resource interconnection experience
Experience in the area of power system engineering analysis, including knowledge of electrical engineering principles and practices
Experience using Eaton CYME power flow analysis software
Experience with SQL scripting
Master's Degree in Engineering
Experience using Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and Visio
Experience with project management concepts and experience including planning, prioritizing, scheduling, and coordinating multiple projects
Experience preparing detailed engineering studies and reports
Experience delivering technical presentations
Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to explain complex technical concepts in simple terms to both technical and non-technical personnel, including internal and external customers
Ability to influence others and maintain positive working relationships
Ability to resolve conflicts in manner which results in win-win solutions for all the parties involved
Ability to stay current with relevant technology and innovation
Strong ethics and the ability to effectively manage stress and engage in continuous learning

Position may require traveling and being out in the field throughout the SCE service territory

This position has been identified as a NERC/CIP impacted position - Prior to being hired, the successful candidate must pass a Personnel Risk Assessment (PRA) or Background Investigation.
