Job DescriptionJoin the Clean Energy RevolutionBecome a Project Manager – Transmission Construction & Technical Support at Southern California Edison (SCE) and build a better tomorrow. In this job, you’ll be part of the Construction & Technical Support (C & TS) organization which provides project and program management of existing Transmission, Distribution and Transmission Telecom 3 rd party relocations, Caltrans, small civil capital improvement projects, licensing support for Transmission projects managed by the MPO organization and infrastructure replacement, Transmission Strategic & Operation Services (TS&O) compliance, maintenance, grid and customer funded projects. The volume of transmission projects is projected to continue to grow over the next several years. These projects are increasing in number, size, complexity and strategic impact. Due to the high visibility of these projects by regulators, public and environmental agencies and major customers, they must be managed consistently and carefully. Manage projects and programs within the organization: Projects and programs include relocation of existing facilities, small civil capital projects, licensing support of projects in the Major Project Organization, and compliance, maintenance, grid and customer funded projects.

Updating project and program documentation data in files and multiple software systems. Requests, receives, reviews, evaluates, and prioritizes data into hard files, Microsoft software programs, etc.

Initiates and issues documentation including Authorization to Proceed (ATP), Release to Construct (RTC), letters, agreements, contracts, trends, work order requests, etc. as required.

Evaluate submittals, letters, plans project / program files for completeness with associated processes and procedures within the department.

Upon completion of projects follow associated processes and procedures associated with closeout and reconciliation.

Schedule and lead internal and external meetings with associated agendas, meeting minutes, action items.

Responsible to manage regulatory and legal matters associated with the project. Prevailing wage, Buy America, California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) data requests, other federal compliance related to projects.

Project cost management related to budgeting, forecasting, and trends.

QualificationsThe essentials

Seven or more years of project management experience.

Five or more years of experience using Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Experience leading cross-functional teams or acting as a team lead.

The preferred

Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management, Project Management, Construction Management or Engineering.

Experience working with all Microsoft office programs, SAP, DM, and/or IWP.

Certificate and/or Licenses: Project Management Certificate.

Experience working with construction management and/or project management principles and processes.

Experience with transmission and / or distribution power systems and operations, relocation processes, transmission /distribution design/planning, policies and procedures, construction/maintenance/operations methods and processes.

Experience with rules, regulations and regulatory requirements governing transmission line construction, maintenance and operations (such as G.O. 95, 128, 165C, 131D).

Experience with budgeting, and cost-benefit decision-making.

Ability to interface effectively and collaborate with clients, peers, project personnel, and all levels of management to develop solutions and ensure a successful project.

Ability to take initiative and accountability for results, and the ability to work numerous projects in an environment with minimum supervision.

Experience using Microsoft Access, Project, Google Earth Pro, Primavera, and Adobe Acrobat Pro.

Position will require up to 25% traveling and being out in the field throughout the SCE service territory.

Relocation does not apply to this position.
