We’re working on smarter grids, cleaner energy and tools to help people manage energy more efficiently.About Transmission and DistributionSouthern California Edison’s (SCE's) Transmission and Distribution Organizational Unit (T & D) is responsible for planning, engineering, constructing, operating, and maintaining transmission and distribution facilities throughout the 50,000-square-mile territory. T&D is the steward of roughly $19 billion in assets that safely and reliably deliver electricity to 15 million residents via SCE’s 5 million customer accounts.Position OverviewThe Senior Business Analyst will support the Business Analytics function of the Resource Planning and Project Management organization within Grid Operations. The Business Analyst will deliver strategic project support, goal reporting and initiative analytics. The individual selected in this role will ensure that the assigned tasks and plans are successfully managed, and engage stakeholders on a regular basis to determine progress and task/activity duration, provide updates, analyze impact, and communicate changes back to stakeholders. Key tasks for this position would include working with advisors, leadership, technical leads, and internal partners.The successful candidate will apply an in-depth understanding of technology adoptions, data analytics, statistics, and operations to solve new and complex problems, to support new tools and services, and to develop innovative strategies. The Analyst must be detail oriented, able to multi-task, work under strict timelines, and identify/resolve multiple issues independently. Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to, Substation Inspection daily and monthly reporting, updating substation equipment in SAP and manually closing work orders. The analyst will be responsible for providing monthly data for the Grid Ops Scorecards (such as but not limited to Substation Ops, DOC, Program Writers, and Outage Coordinators).Typical Responsibilities:

Gathering, quality assurance, and analysis of data related to Grid Operations business functions

Obtain and compile data/information for Grid Operations business functions and perform analysis of that data/information to ensure performance metrics, organizational initiatives and departmental goals are met

Perform data queries utilizing SQL, SAS, SAP, SharePoint and Business Objects to develop reports, trends, analyze system performance and impact analysis

Provide decisions, support, direction and assistance to internal and external client organizations

Responsible for written and oral communication through his/her analysis, data gathering, recommendations and development of reports, presentations and business plans

Reports, presentations and recommendations will be created based on technical knowledge and detailed analysis for all levels of technical staff, industry professionals and management

Accountable to collaborate with, presenting to, and communicating with leadership, technical experts, engineering, various SCE organizations and external organizations and utilities

Investigate data errors, and organizational performance issues, support cause evaluation, data analysis, trend analysis, developing reports and recommendations, and escalation to appropriate resources

Provide analysis results and recommendations to organizational personnel, and management for reporting and performance measurement, escalate performance trends and problems

Query, data correlation and advanced data analytics utilizing SQL, SAS, SAP, Business Objects, and other SCE data repositories for data analysis, trend analysis and the development of mitigation recommendations

Engage and support various operational, project and infrastructure related projects to continuously improve the Grid Operations performance and continue to develop process and procedure improvements

Perform analysis and quality assurance on Grid Operations data / information, to ensure accurate reporting and communication

Support scheduling with cross-functional teams

Publish and communicate data as needed

Support training efforts

Perform other responsibilities and duties as assigned

QualificationsMinimum Qualifications

5 years of experience in business analysis

Experience documenting analysis and findings, producing recommendations, and the presentation and implementation of strategies for moderate to complex analysis

Experience with Office 365 Suite Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Visio

Experience with Sharepoint and Power BI

Experience developing macros

Desired Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Business or related field or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience

Extensive analytical skills around Grid Operations business practices

Knowledge of Distribution and/or Transmission Business processes and SCE policies, procedures, objectives and strategies

Demonstrated proficiency in the Office 365 suite including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Visio, and Outlook

Possesses four or more years of experience in the field of analysis, data acquisition and reporting

Advanced experience in Microsoft Cloud Suite is preferred such as SharePoint and Power BI

Demonstrated experience with transmission/distribution electrical projects

Demonstrated experience using tools such as SAP, such as generating reports, working with notifications and work orders

Ability to integrate work across relevant areas, develop the business and services to enhance stakeholder satisfaction and productivity, manage risks appropriately, develop and execute business plans, manage information, and provide exceptional service to internal and external customers

Effective resource and project planning, decision making, results delivery, team building, and the ability to stay current with relevant technology and innovation.
