Position summary: Ensures accurate and timely daily deposit and reconciliation of payment batches. Matches the type of payment receipts (paper checks, EFT, Payment Portal, Credit Card and Cash) to explanation of benefits (ERA and paper EOB's and Payment Portal Files). Researches on-line as necessary with payers and claims clearinghouse to obtain EOB's. Performs the balancing of batches received to batches posted in order to ensure all batches are posted in an accurate and timely manner. Researches and resolves bank chargebacks, NSF & discrepancies. Logs all posting batches, transfers and variances on the department Deposit Log. Assists in month-end balancing process. Ability to communicate issues and requests via Tasking and e-mail systems professionally and follow-up to ensure timely resolution. Monitors and orders office supplies. May perform other duties as assigned.Job Qualifications: [Required] : High School or equivalent. Two (2) years cash handling and reconciliation; basic knowledge of bookkeeping and/or accounting; knowledge of Microsoft Office, specifically Excel and Outlook. Detail oriented with strong organizational and prioritizing skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills needed to interface with Associates, Payers and Patients.[Preferred] Experience in a healthcare setting.
