Job Title: Licensed Architect / Project Architect

Location: Redding, California 96002

Job Summary:

Prestigious comprehensive architecture, structural engineering and interior design firm actively seeks Licensed Architect / Project Architect to join our thriving and dynamic Redding, CA office.

Our architectural firm excels in all phases of civic, healthcare, education, religious, commercial, senior living and residential design projects. Projects range from $5,000 ADA compliance issues to $82 million government office complexes. We possesses state-of-the-art computer-assisted design and drafting (CAD) capabilities and propriety project management software.

The ideal architectural professional for this role will be a fully competent professional architect who will perform architectural design and development work for projects involving construction of new buildings and the alteration of existing buildings and facilities. Position usually responsible for coordinating architectural work for entire projects or for a specific phase/aspect of a larger project. Typically includes coordination of specifications and construction administration.

Ideal Project Architect Qualification and Experience Needed:

Bachelors degree or higher in Architecture or closely related field of study (Preferred)

Minimum of 5 plus years of architectural industry work experience (Preferrable having working within an architectural design and planning office environment)

Currently Licensed Architect or ability to obtain architectural registration within 6-9 month of hire.

Proficient working knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit software

Project Architect level experience pertaining to architectural projects such as civic, healthcare (OSHPD), education (DSA), religious, commercial, senior living or residential building design projects.

Licensed architect who exercises independent judgement in evaluation, selection, and use of standard techniques, solves problems when encountered, and received guidance on complex projects. Licensed architect who is competent in all conventional aspects of architecture.

Strong communication skills, team oriented, self-driven work ethic and ability to meet fast paced project demands.

Strong knowledge of design, trends, construction methodology, material application, and manufacturer-supplier appropriateness. Is prepared and able to participate in all phases of the design process.

Knowledge of architectural building systems.

Knowledge of sustainability, integrated design and LEED guidelines.

Thorough knowledge of Building Information Modeling (BIM) and Integrated Project Delivery (IDP).

Advanced knowledge of QA/QC process.

Advanced knowledge of building codes and ability to research and apply/incorporate into technical documents.

Possess strong sketching and freehand drawing skills. Ability to create quick sketches to convey/sell an idea is critical.

Proficiency in Photoshop, Illustrator, Sketchup, and InDesign graphic software preferred.

Proficiency in Alliance2Build preferred.

Ability to work effectively within a collaborative team environment.

Ability to work with integrity, trust and commitment, setting an example for others.

Must be eligible to work in the United States without employer sponsorship or Visa transfer.

Must be willing to work out of our Redding, CA

Project Architect Role and Responsibilities:

As a Project Architect, in partnership with the Architectural Project Manager and Architectural Project Designer, you are accountable for project financial performance and team communication. Responsible for the issuance and content of deliverables, technical content of firm documents and coordination of disciplines including consultants and for the supervision of all staff producing documents.

Performs work requiring independent judgement in evaluation, selection and adaptation / modification of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria. Received technical guidance on unusual or complex issues and supervisory approval on proposed project plans.

Project Leadership: Responsible for ensuring the overall design intent of the project established by the Principal/Project Designer is incorporated into the detailed documentation.

Monitors the design process from conceptual phase through construction administration, ensuring the design intent is consistent and properly executed.

Responsible for technical resolution and coordination for a defined portion of a project.

Develops specifications and is responsible for coordination of drawings and specifications.

Checks completed reports, plans, estimates and calculations for accuracy.

Sets the overall strategy for producing the documents and identifies the sheets planned for each stage of the work. This includes defining how data will be organized into files and which elements will be incorporated in a Building Information Model (BIM).

Responsible for communication with other disciplines, vendors, and contractors to ensure incorporation of all information into project requirements and provides support as necessary.

Ensures that construction detail documentation conforms to quality assurance, quality control and best practice standards.

Supervises preparation of technical drawings by other less senior level architects or technicians.

Mentors and directs the work of less experienced staff, participates in professional development reviews and Lessons Learned sessions.

Fosters a commitment to external and internal client service.

Participate in Construction administration for projects and works with project leaders on issues affecting budget, construction costs, schedule, and legal/liability related issues for the Firm.

Client Interface: Works on developing a positive relationship of trust with client Leadership. Regularly communicates with client representative to verify design requirements and specifications, progress reviews and delivery of final presentation. May work with client to confirm objectives and formulate options; may prepare and conduct design and technical presentations for team and/or clients. May participate in marketing efforts, including presentations.
