Engineering Manager Job Description & Qualifications:
Local Manufacturing Firm in a highly competitive market looking for qualified candidate to fill our Engineering Manager position. The Engineering Manager will help review engineering and product opportunities and work with engineering staff to turn the opportunities into successful products through all phases of the design, engineering, prototyping, and first article building. Design for manufacturing experience is a plus!
Job Description:
Confer with Management, Production, and Sales & Marketing staff to discuss project specifications and procedures.
Coordinate projects and direct Engineering staff, making detailed plans to accomplish goals and directing the integration of technical activities.
Analyze technology and resource requirements to perform detailed ROI (return on investment) calculations for given engineering and product opportunities.
Plan and direct the installation, testing, operation, maintenance, and repair of facilities and equipment.
Direct and review product design and changes.
Assign, direct, and evaluate Engineering staff job performance.
Oversee the development, training, and maintenance of staff competence.
Develop and implement policies, standards, and procedures for engineering and technical work performed in the department.
Consult with clients to prepare project specifications.
Must not just manage, but lead the Engineering Team
Other duties as assigned by Management
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree or higher in Electrical, Mechanical, or Software Engineering
Experience of 3-5 years with a proven track record of success in previous engineering roles
Second to none work ethic
Multi-disciplined: Experience with CAD modeling, schematic capture, PCB layout, and programming PLCs
Ability to learn quickly
Ability and willingness to lead a top-notch team of engineers
Must have great communication and organizational skills
Ability to work with in a team to achieve a common goal
