Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a Senior Principal Cyber Systems Engineer / Staff Cyber Systems Engineer. This position can be filled at any of our Redondo Beach, CA, Morrisville, NC, Aurora, CO, Fairfax, VA, or Linthicum, MD offices.

What you'll get to do? As a Cyber Systems Engineer on this program, you will get to:
  • Perform assessments of systems and networks within the networking environment or enclave and identify where those systems and networks deviate from acceptable configurations, enclave policy, or local policy. This is achieved through passive evaluations such as compliance audits and active evaluations such as vulnerability assessments.
  • Establish strict program control processes to ensure mitigation of risks and support obtaining certification and accreditation of systems.
  • Support analysis, coordination, security certification test, security documentation, as well as investigations, software research, hardware introduction and release, emerging technology research inspections and periodic audits.
  • Assist in the implementation of the required government policy (i.e., NISPOM, DCID 6-3), make recommendations on process tailoring, participate in and document process activities.
  • Perform analyses to validate established security requirements and to recommend additional security requirements and safeguards.
  • Support the formal Security Test and Evaluation (ST&E) required by each government accrediting authority through pre-test preparations, participation in the tests, analysis of the results and preparation of required reports.
  • Document the results of Certification and Accreditation activities, prepare the system Security Plans and update the Plan of Actions and Milestones POA&M.
  • Periodically conduct a complete review of each system's audits and monitor corrective actions until all actions are closed.
  • Experience with Risk Management Framework accreditation functions, including documentation, scanning, assessment, POAM management, through all steps of the RMF
  • Experience with Continuous Monitoring to comply with RMF
  • Experience with cybersecurity, information security and information assurance roles
  • Experience executing and monitoring security tools, such as SEIM, SOAR, and vulnerability and compliance scanners
  • Demonstrated ability to handle multiple levels of classified systems and data and follow data transfer/trusted download/assured file transfer processes
This requisition may be filled as either a Principal Cyber Info Assurance Analyst, a Senior Principal Cyber Info Assurance Analyst, or a Staff Cyber Info Assurance Analyst.

Basic Qualifications for Senior Principal Cyber Systems Engineer :
  • 9 years of relevant experience with a Bachelor of Science degree; 7 years of relevant experience with a Masters' degree; 4 years of experience with a PhD
  • Active DoD Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility and willing to submit to a polygraph
  • Must possess an IAT Level II (DoD 8570) certification
  • Working knowledge of cybersecurity principles and processes
Basic Qualifications for Staff Cyber Systems Engineer :
  • 14 years of relevant experience with a Bachelor of Science degree; 12 years of relevant experience with a Masters' degree; 9 years of experience with a PhD
  • Active DoD Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility and willing to submit to a polygraph
  • Must possess an IAT Level II (DoD 8570) certification
  • Working knowledge of cybersecurity principles and processes
Preferred Qualifications :
  • Active TS/SCI clearance
  • Familiarity with space vehicle ground segment design
  • Experience with Agile development
  • Effectively communicate and present to project and program management, other technical managers and customers
  • Familiarity with Model-Based Systems Engineering languages (SysML/UML) and concepts
  • Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline
  • Excellent technical writing and team building skills

Salary Range: $138,300 USD - $207,500 USD

Salary Range 2: $171,600 USD - $257,400 USD Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
