DescriptionRobert Half HR Services in San Jose, CA is seeking a HR Generalist for our client in Redwood City, CA. This is a short-term contract opportunity. Ensure compliance with, all California and federal laws

Maintains compliance with federal, state and local employment and benefits laws and regulations.

Performs benefits administration, including claims resolution, change reporting, approving invoices for payment and communicating benefits information to employees.

Coordinate light duty work with employee, supervisor and WC carrier.

Help with the administration of health, dental, 401k and other benefit plans.

Assist in Training and Development Programs.

Assist in coaching and mentoring of supervisors.

Assists with recruiting and interviewing.

Maintains company organization charts and the employee directory.

Maintains human resource information system records and compiles reports from the database.

Plans and participates in employee events

RequirementsHR Generalist Skills and Qualifications:

Self-starter able to conceptualize and drive initiatives forward

Positive attitude and motivated by contributing to the overall success of team

Attention to detail, well organized and able to multi-task and work on may projects at once

Comfortable moving at a fast pace and in ambiguous environments

Willing to address difficult situations head on with patience and respect.

Bachelor?s degree in human resources, business administration or related field.

Minimum 3-5 years of experience in the HR field

SHRM CP or PHR certification preferred

Experience working in manufacturing environments

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Must be an effective hands-on manager capable of resolving organizational, training, communication, and interpersonal problems that may arise.

Must possess solid knowledge on employee rights and employer responsibilities arising under federal and state laws.
