Oracle DBA Location: Redwood City, CA 12 Months Role: Database Administrator/DBRE Expert in Oracle (at L3 level a must) Should have experience of working in RAC environment and Oracle 12C & 19C. Monitor and maintain the backups for database recoverability for all production databases, PITR replicating. Ability to troubleshoot database issues to get quick solution to make sure 24x7 uptime of databases. Database monitoring job automation and proactively and regularly make recommendations for system improvements. Provide technical guidance for integration, planning of new production systems/databases. In depth knowledge of the Oracle and EDB PostgreSQL DB architecture. Hands-on experience in Oracle Database Performance Tuning, SQL Tuning, AWR analysis, using tool tkprof / OEM. Migration - Oracle to Postgres with code conversion experience and troubleshooting migration issues. Drive end to end availability, performance monitoring, and capacity planning for Oracle and PostgreSQL and Oracle. Clusters and upgrading/migrating various PostgreSQL database version. Contribute to improving and creating DBA policies, procedures, and security standards. Work towards DBA process improvements and should able to write scripts for automation for regular task by L1/L2. Issue analysis and fixing the same with help from Oracle and EDB support. Knowledge in PostgreSQL L2 level is necessary. Excellent interpersonal skills Excellent written and oral communication. Should have good customer management skills Technologies: - Oracle L3, postgres at least L2 and additional database technologies. Preferred Skills Implement automated methods and industry best practices for consistent installation, configuration, and integration of EDB PostgreSQL for production, pre-production, and non-production environments. Experience on community-supported tools like Pgbadger, Slony, PGadmin, Pgpool, and Pgbouncer. Must have hands on experience using AWS services (EC2,RDS,ECS, API Gateway, Route 53, load balancers, DynamoDB, S3, IAM, CloudFormation templates, etc.) and supporting AWS infrastructure. Working knowledge in various Dev Ops Practice using Infrastructure as Code and hands on experience over Jenkins, SonarQube, Liquibase, Ansible, etc. Good working knowledge in scripting with Python, Perl, shell scripting.
