DescriptionIf you're an Accountant and create spreadsheets in your sleep, you could find your place in the accounting field with this position. Accountemps is hiring candidates for an exciting entry-level Accountant opportunity, with a highly successful organization in the Construction/Contractor industry. In this position, you will review financial statements with a heavy data entry component. You'll thrive in this entry-level position if you're an Excel enthusiast interested in spreadsheet creation and manipulation. This short-term temporary entry-level Accountant position is located in Redwood City, California.Your responsibilities in this role
Prepare journal entries monthly
Log data
Assisting with audit fieldwork for both financial and operational audits
Executing alternate duties and partaking in special projects as assigned
Researching and rectifying account discrepancies
Aiding in full cycle Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processes
Making sure that accounts contained in the general ledger are correct
Requirements
1 - 3 years of accounting experience necessary
Applicants with an AA or BS/BA degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business are recommended for this position
Be detailed, flexible, and organized
Desire to thrive in scenarios of team-based work or independent tasks, always looking to learn more and take initiative on a number of different projects and tasks
Excellent written, verbal and social communication skills
Bank reconciliations experience
General ledger experience preferred
Strong familiarity with Microsoft Excel
Expertise in fixed assets
Excellent data entry skills
