Position: UC Engineer Length: 3 months Location: Remote Our client, a non-profit hospital, is seeking a UC Engineer.

Responsibilities:
  • Primary responsibility for design, review, implementation, and support of the Client Unified Communications (UC) network.
  • The qualified candidate will be support system administration, hands-on operational tasks, system design, engineering and consultation for the Client UC environment.
  • The Sr. Network Engineer, VOIP works closely with business and technology counterparts to understand enterprise objectives and their impact on UC network infrastructure.
  • This engineering role has technical responsibility for requirements analysis, system design and implementation of Client voice and data infrastructure components supporting the reliable delivery of communications services to the Health System.
  • This role will also be expected to participate in the following functions: Manage technology delivery projects; Manage vendors and consultants; Test, monitor, and evaluate new infrastructure; and Continuously look for opportunities to improve the Client UC network.
  • Design, support and maintain our global network/security/voice with a focus on our VoIP infrastructure.

Educational requirements and/or preferences:
  • Minimum of 5 - 7 years of practical experience supporting a Cisco-centric VOIP environment.
  • Enterprise experience with Call Manager, Unity Voice Messaging, and Voice Gateways in a multi cluster environment.
  • Strong understanding of SIP / H.323 / MGoogle Cloud Platform Protocols. Extensive networking experience in a complex multi-platform, multi-protocol environment with hands-on experience with, but not limited to TCP/IP, IOS, routers, switches, and network configurations.
  • In -depth knowledge and experience of the following; Ethernet, Ethernet Switching, IP, IP assignment, NAC, VPN, remote access servers, security devices, firewalls.
  • Broad understanding of all aspects of LAN and WAN operation, routing, topology, QoS, Multicast, network protocols, and MetroEthernet.

What other skills are we looking for?
  • Experience with selection and strategic direction of UC technologies and architecture - perform concept and testing to system design and solutions.
  • Expertise in network monitoring, systems monitoring, analysis, management, and configuration and management tools.
  • Ability to present technology issues in a clear, concise and understandable manner
  • Interpersonal skills; able to deal effectively with diverse skill sets and personalities, and work effectively as a team player.
  • Highly organized with a proven ability to prioritize workload, meet deadlines, manage several broad-scope projects at one time, and utilize time effectively for staff and extended team.
  • Executes all job responsibilities and assignments promptly, reliably, honestly, and ethically.

Preferred experience :
  • Voice-CCIE credential preferred.
  • Hands on experience integrating Cisco Call Manager, gateways and gatekeepers in a hybrid Nortel - Cisco environment.
  • Development experience with Python and JavaScript or related programming languages.
  • A bachelor's degree in a business, healthcare, or information technology discipline or equivalent experience.
