Business Analyst - P&C InsuranceDuration:1 year contract + possible extensionsPosition Overview:
- Works closely with business and technical stakeholders to observe, elicit and define business, functional, and non-functional requirements to support changes to process, procedures or use of software systems
- Develops system requirements of all levels of complexities for projects, defects, enhancements and regulatory requirements of automated and manual systems
- Provides technical system guidance and assistance to users in the development, maintenance, and implementation of automated and manual systems
- Ability to create detailed business work/task flow diagrams via a variety of software tools.
- Performs assignments at all analytical levels including problem definition, external design, internal design and testing
- On a project level, identifies potential difficulties and communicates to management recommendations of automated systems
- On task level, may schedule, plan, and coordinate the activities of others in the development, enhancement and implementation of automated systems
- Develops and delivers training for end users and IT
- Provides assistance to other analysts concerning development or testing
- Communicates closely with business stakeholders to observe, elicit and define business requirements to support change to process, procedures or use of software systems
- Must have Guidewire experience
- 3 - 5 years of experience as a business analyst in the P&C insurance field
- Strong knowledge of BA disciplines and methodologies (agile and waterfall)
- Critical thinking and analytical skills to evaluate information and identify root causes in order to design, and test possible solutions
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills,
- Ability to operate effectively in a rapidly changing environment, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in the same time span.
- Knowledge of Guidewire suite of applications, including but not limited to PolicyCenter, BillingCenter, ClaimCenter and Portal technology
- Successfully worked as a BA in the P&C Insurance field and is knowledgeable of insurance systems and products
