Drawing from decades of experience, Ameresco develops tailored energy projects for the commercial, industrial, government, education, healthcare and public housing sectors.Applied Energy Group (AEG), a division of Ameresco, Inc. is seeking a Director to join their Market Assessment practice area. The successful candidate will lead a team to develop and enhance AEG’s tools for conducting market potential studies of energy efficiency and demand response resources, measure characterization, energy usage analysis and forecasting, cost-effectiveness modeling, emerging technology and distributed energy resource (e.g., solar, electric vehicles, battery storage) forecasting and modeling, and other related energy analyses. This is a management position and will involve specific experience and expertise in personnel management, project management, industry expertise, and business development.Responsibilities:Provide leadership for key practice areas;

Contribute to the development of AEG’s business objectives and directives;

Use industry expertise and thought leadership in a chosen practice area to drive innovation and excellence within AEG;

Engage in and lead additional management activities such as management strategy, business development strategy, and improvement of processes;

Manage/direct a team of analysts, associates, project managers and/or managers to meet or exceed their goals in project work and professional development;

Provide direction and coaching to direct reports that supports the successful achievement of their job development goals;

Manage/direct highly complex projects or tasks which may include: statistical analyses, analysis of fuel and utility bills, estimation of energy efficiency savings and costs, measure engineering analysis, program benefit-cost analysis, program development and planning, evaluation analysis, market research, survey design, and secondary research;

Manage/direct the development of project deliverables including written memos, reports, and presentations and manage the QA/QC process on those deliverables to the project director’s satisfaction;

Manage QA/QC of complex analysis performed by others to ensure deliverables are high quality, sensible, and error free;

Independently manage assigned tasks, analyses, and projects to the project manager, project director and/or manager’s satisfaction;

Communicate analytical methods and results to clients in a clear and effective manner;

Approve technical decisions related to complex research, planning, and data analysis;

Manage/direct the development of analysis plans for complex tasks and/or projects;

Build and maintain relationships with clients to maximize productivity and cultivate future opportunities; and

Accountable for business development by hitting measurable revenue targets for your team/practice area commensurate with current level.

Minimum Qualifications:BA/BS in Engineering, Economics, Public Policy, Business or related concentration.

Minimum of ten (10) years experience working for or with energy utilities in resource planning, program design, technology assessment, regulatory support, stakeholder engagement, project management or related areas.

Additional Preferred Qualifications:Advanced degree in a related field preferred

Additional certifications preferred i.e. CEM, IPMVP, etc.

Active membership in one or more industry groups or associations preferred

Demonstrated ability to manage and lead a successful team

Demonstrated industry experience and ability to lead key practice areas

Demonstrated success in business development

Leading skills in analysis, problem-solving and decision making

Leading skills in model development and analysis on one or more software platforms

Leading skills in the development of analysis plans for discrete tasks and/or projects

Leading skills in QA/QC approaches and procedures

Exemplary skills in both verbal and written communications

Team player with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment

Sound business ethics, including the protection of proprietary and confidential information

Superior interpersonal skills including courtesy, professionalism and a cooperative attitude

Strong organizational skills with proven ability to follow through on multiple tasks and priorities.
