Description JOB DESCRIPTION: Performs high-level, day-to-day operational maintenance, support, and upgrades for complex operating systems, workstations and servers. Coordinates, directs and performs complex software installations and upgrades to operating systems and layered software packages. Schedules installations and upgrades and maintains them in accordance with established IT policies and procedures. Continually monitors and tunes multiple systems to achieve optimum performance levels. Ensures workstation/server data integrity by evaluating, implementing, and managing appropriate software and hardware solutions of varying complexities. Ensures data/media recoverability by developing and implementing a schedule of system backups and database archive operations. Plans and implements the modernization of servers. Develops, implements and promotes standard operating procedures and schedules. Conducts hardware and software audits of workstations and servers to ensure compliance with established standards, policies, and configuration guidelines. Incumbent develops and implements new standards, policies and procedures. Incumbent in this job works closely with Network and Systems Analysts to help determine and develop the systems that will be implemented. Qualifications SAIC is looking for a Unix/Linux Administrator to join our team supporting the RITS contract with the US Army Corps of Engineers. This individual will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the UNIX/LINUX server infrastructure. Provides leadership to the UNIX/LINUX Server team, overseeing activities administering, designing, and implementing RedHat Linux and Solaris server based solutions. Responsible for incident management as it relates to the UNIX/LINUX server infrastructure. Performs advanced troubleshooting of complex system issues. Works primarily in a virtualized environment. Qualifications Experience: Must have a minimum of 8 years of experience administrating and managing servers and systems, specializing in UNIX/LINUX operating systems, including RHEL 5, RHEL 6, RHEL 7, RHEL 8, and Solaris. Must possess a Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA) certification or equivalent. Proficient with compiling/installing/troubleshooting perl modules for different versions. Including OS and other application/software requirements. Proficient with compiling/installing/troubleshooting python modules for different versions. Including OS and other application/software requirements. Familiarity with re-creating or bundling custom modules for perl and python to the lifecycle environments (dev, stage, prod) Familiarity with Red Hat packaging (rpm, yum, etc.) for RHEL 6, RHEL 7 and RHEL 8 Must be able to obtain a Secret Clearance Must be able to obtain/maintain a Security+ CE certification.

Target salary range: $100,001 - $125,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
