The experience we would expect the ideal person to deliver is:Summary of RoleSunPower is seeking a bright, motivated Software Engineering Intern to help build analytics tools and web interfaces for our Commercial Energy Storage team.This position will work closely with the Commercial Energy Storage Product Manager and Product Analyst as well as part of a greater cross-functional team to contribute to the a) development and operation of our energy storage analytics engine, and b) setting of the company’s strategy for storage and related services through research and analysis.Duties and Responsibilities

Participate with the group manager and engineers to design and implement new analytics, software and interfaces

Design and build analytics tool software & web application interfaces

Perform analysis

Education, Experience, and Qualifications

Pursuing Bachelor’s degree in computer science or engineering with software development experience

Significant experience using Python

Experience using Python web application frameworks such as Django and Flask

Experience using Windows. Experience using Linux a plus

Experience using Excel for data analysis

Effective verbal and written communication skills Ability to be self-directed, do independent research and learn new skills quickly

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with Python Pandas Data Analysis Library

Ability to write basic HTML, CSS, and JavaScript

Statistics background

Knowledge of solar or energy storage technologies

Experience with AWS server architecture and deployment

Experience using Git and GitHub for version control and source code management.

Intern Program Overview

10-12 week summer program

Interns will individually work under the direction of their managers and will participate in a series of preplanned events throughout the summer, including executive presentations, a team-building day, and an end-of-program intern presentation to his/her manager and eStaff member about the project they delivered during their internship.

All interns will complete the program by the last day of August 2019. At the completion of the program, the intern will be evaluated and considered for possible future full time employment upon graduation.

Hourly-based, paid internship, approximately 40 hours per week.
