Job Description

This is a 2nd shift role, 2pm - 10:30pm.

As a member of the Riverside Distribution Center team the Distribution CenterSupervisor will be responsible for leadership of 5 x 24 outbound distribution center activities while on shift. This person will be a safety champion who understands all aspects of OSHA compliance related to distribution operations. Lead and direct shipping associates to assure timely shipping windows are met for carriers. The supervisor must learn the details of all distribution activities including Picking, Labeling, Inventory, Loading, and Scheduling. The supervisor is responsible to maintain proper crewing and report all results and follow up requirements while in the facility. They will also participate in the development and deployment of site policies and practices as well as leading training for all shipping and support personnel.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Role model Fair Share behaviors in all aspects of integrity, trust, respect, safety, teamwork, positive attitude, information sharing and work ethic.
  • Plan and distribute workload on a daily and weekly basis to warehouse lead and distribution office to ensure that all customer orders are picked and shipped on time.
  • To supervise a team of 25-50 hourly associates with focus on: Safety Quality Cost
  • To investigate and reconcile cycle count discrepancies, i.e., shortages as well as overages
  • Ensure all MHE drivers maintain certifications and utilize equipment in accordance with OSHA regulations and training.
  • Develop individual associate’s skills, standards and morale through training and coaching.
  • Give consistent and thorough feedback to associates, conduct timely Performance Appraisals, and deliver disciplinary action if necessary.
  • Supervise, develop, and direct daily department activities with employees assigned to the department as required to maintain a high level of employee performance.
  • Expertise in SAP capable of research, controls, reporting, and training related to shipping activity.
  • Deliver Continuous Improvement by seeking ‘out of the box’ alternatives
  • Pro-actively identify and implement best-in-class controls to maintain inventory accuracy

Qualifications

  • Associates Degree in related operational field or 5+ years of proven inventory control supervisory experience
  • Effectively leads by example and has the confidence to lead a team. Proven leadership capability in management involving cross-functional teams.
  • SAP proficiency
  • Demonstrated skills in communicating (written and oral) with peers, team members, executive management. Able to present data and facts in a clear and concise manner
  • Experience utilizing MS Project, Word, Excel,PowerPoint,and CAD software
  • Critical thinking, strong interpersonal skills, ability to develop others
  • Ability to supervise, control, manage,instruct,and lead others to complete the assignedtasks.
  • Strong analytical and excellent problem-solving skills
  • Excellent verbal as well as written communication skills that arenecessaryto work in a customer focused working environment. Ability to collaborate with hourly team members and other department managers to grow teamwork and improve alignment and performance results.
  • Establish performance expectations for hourly employees and allocate resources as required
