- Performs laboratory test in order to determine or rule out potential failure causes. Uses intuition, experience and technical / analytical skills to support data collection and conclusions.

- High school diploma or GED. Associate degree in electronics or equivalent from two-year college or technical school preferred. As an alternative to an associate degree, the preferred candidate will be enrolled in a 4-year degree program in the field of Electrical Engineering.
- Apprenticeship or formal training in electronic products or electric/electronic repair highly desirable. Knowledge of assembly and disassembly practices of electric circuit boards/electrical components.
- To perform this job successfully, an individual must have knowledge of and ability to effectively use personal computer and knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet software.
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret technical procedures, and engineering drawings.
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals.
- Must have ability to effectively use various electronic, hand and power tools and test equipment. Must be skilled in soldering small components on electronic boards and knowledgeable in the use of equipment such as multimeters and oscilloscopes.
