Our client is looking for a Sr. IT Project Manager w/PeopleSoft experience to support multiple project efforts. This resource will sit remote to begin, but is expected to work onsite with the team in Riverside, CA in August when they move back onsite.

HIRING MANAGER NOTES: Project Manager : The ideal resource will have true experience managing projects not spreadsheets. They should be able to manage multiple efforts as they will handle a couple of projects at a time. All efforts are in support of IT projects, Kanban would be nice, mostly Application Project focused but some infrastructure projects would be ok. We need a PM that gets their hands dirty and can drive the projects and processes. Agile experience is a must and this resource needs to be able to handle multiple projects at a time in different stages, as well as manage projects from start to finish and at times take over projects that are already under way. Needs the framework and foundation to manage almost anything. Some projects could be help fix bugs in GL module, rebuild apps, and help eliminate issues that are creating a lot of tickets Types of projects : PeopleSoft (GL), HR Processes, Salesforce, implementations, enhancements, upgrades, all around well rounded PM. Tech Tools: MS Suite, MS Project, Visio, Excel, Jira is a plus Years: Ideally 7-10+ years in a PM role, supporting various projects in the IT space Certifications: PMP, Scrum, Agile, all would be a plus, but experience is preferred over certifications

Position Summary The IT Project Manager is responsible for the planning, implementation, tracking organization, and coordination of technology projects, which support business operations.

Reporting to the IT Shared Services Senior Manager Program Management, the IT Project Manager will use established project management methodologies and templates to manage projects of broad and diverse scope, size, impact and budget. This position requires at least one year experience as a lead project manager on an Enterprise Resource Planning project. Other IT projects will include IT service improvements, cloud/hosted deployments, and enhancements to core technology and applications used in house including PeopleSoft HCM, Salesforce Cloud, Interactive Intelligence communication as a service, IBM FileNet ECM, SharePoint and other technologies. Release Management Experience is a plus.

The responsibilities of the IT Project Manager include the following:

  • Manage and/or support technology projects throughout the project lifecycle (Initiate, Plan & Design, Execute, Monitor & Control, and Close).
  • Lead effort to streamline / operationalize release management activities, e.g., refine migration process (i.e., QA to Production), capacity planning, and resource planning.
  • Operationalize PeopleSoft deployment - transition from project to operations.
  • Develop project documents, such as charters, schedules, RACI, etc.
  • Support meetings (develop agendas, capture meeting notes, etc.).Organize and coordinate project activities, e.g., schedule workshops and meetings; follow up on tasks / action items.
  • Monitor and control projects ensuring milestones are met according to project charter and schedule; manage triple constraints.
  • Assist with test cases / test plans development.
  • Assist with requirements elicitation /gathering and tracking.
  • Maintain action items log, risks and issues log, and status updates.
  • Conduct gap analysis (e.g., planned vs. actual).Develop / maintain project communication plans.
  • Support project debriefing sessions (capture lessons learned).Support project stakeholder engagement activities.5+ years of experience actively managing information technology projects through all phases of the project management lifecycle.
  • Minimum of one year experience as a lead project manager on an Enterprise Resource Planning project.
  • Experience developing Microsoft Project schedules to include dependencies and resource management.
  • Experience developing project plans/ charters, schedules, communication plans, requirements, test plans, test scripts, and status reports.
  • Skilled at monitoring / tracking project progress.
  • Experienced with updating and managing actions, risks and issues logs.
  • Experience with organizing and coordinating meetings and workshops.
  • Experienced with Microsoft Project, SharePoint, Visio and MS Office Suite.
  • Experience using WebEx, Zoom or ReadyTalk to facilitating remote and on-site meetings. Strong verbal and written communication skills including the ability to share ideas both with the business and internal IT teams.
  • Deep understanding of software development methodologies, such as agile.
  • Ability to be flexible, agile, and work in a fast-paced environment. Experience working with vendors and multiple business and technical stakeholders.
  • Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent experience.

Preferred Skills, Certifications, Experience:

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
  • Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP)
  • Master Project Management certification.
  • Experience as a release manager.
  • Experience as a business analyst or business systems analyst.
