We’re working on smarter grids, cleaner energy and tools to help people manage energy more efficiently.About Transmission and DistributionSouthern California Edison’s (SCE's) Transmission and Distribution Organizational Unit (T&D) is responsible for planning, engineering, constructing, operating, and maintaining transmission and distribution facilities throughout the 50,000-square-mile territory. T&D is the steward of roughly $19 billion in assets that safely and reliably deliver electricity to 14 million residents via SCE’s 5 million customer accounts.Position OverviewT&D’s Grid Contracts Origination and Operations organization has a Contract Manager (CPUC, FERC) Advisor level position within the Grid Contracts Management group, responsible for managing Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) jurisdictional wholesale electric generation contracts and California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) tariff contracts. This position will interpret contracts and define required actions to comply with contractual obligations, assist in the resolution of disputes, perform and track required actions, and administer contract amendments resulting from customer requests, regulatory mandates, tariff changes, or implementation of Company policies or standards.Typical Responsibilities

Manages a portfolio of medium value/visibility grid interconnection agreements from contract execution through contract termination. Includes leading meetings, developing agendas, summarizing and documenting decisions and action items, disseminating meeting minutes, tracking project milestones (insurance, invoicing, financial security, collections, issuing default notices), working with construction team to keep project build on-track, amending agreements after true-up or infrastructure replacement, contract suspensions and terminations.

The Advisor is intimately familiar with most aspects of the interconnection processes included in tariffs and rules approved by the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) and the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC).These include the CAISO procedures, SCE’s WDAT procedures, as well as CPUC Rule 21. Advisors also are well versed on SCE’s established policies, processes, and procedures.

As primary point of contact works with developers / customers, regulatory organizations and internal stakeholders (Legal, Real Properties, Environmental, Major Projects, Field Engineering, Transmission Planning, etc.) to manage expectations and resolve highly sensitive issues.Takes lead and forms ad hoc cross-functional team(s) to resolve disputes and issues.

Works closely with customers on resolutions of billing, operational, contract language and contractual issues. Includes amending existing agreements.Analyzes complex information, identifies key issues, assesses impact, and makes reasonable judgments to resolve contract issues.Makes recommendations after thinking through all possible ramifications of an issue.

Responds to regulatory and internal stakeholder data requests by researching, analyzing and producing presentations, advises senior management and other stakeholder organizations and offers assistance to others in tariff and contract interpretation, as needed.

Leads projects, which includes identifying problems and solutions, and collaborating in establishing project goals, objectives and outcomes. Project plan to include identification of various stakeholders, developing and documenting an end-to-end process (including milestones and deliverables), define roles and responsibilities, and obtaining buy-in.

Prepares reports and presentations for management, respond to data requests, updates the contract management database and electronic document storage system, and perform other duties as assigned.

QualificationsMinimum Qualifications

Seven or more years of overall experience in contract management, project management/analysis, program management and/or business operations.

Three or more years of experience managing agreements/contracts related to FERC and/or CPUC regulatory tariffs.

Desired Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Statistics or related discipline

Energy Industry experience.

Experience with most aspects of the interconnection processes included in tariffs and rules approved by the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) and the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC).These include the CAISO procedures, SCE’s WDAT procedures, as well as CPUC Rule 21.

Experience managing a portfolio of agreements from origination to termination, tracking milestones, amending agreements, and managing suspensions and terminations.

Experience with working and interacting with diverse groups of people including both internal and external parties.

Strong ethics, influence and negotiation, leadership, interpersonal skills, communication, and the ability to effectively manage stress and engage in continuous learning.

Experience working under pressure and managing competing priorities.

Knowledge of electric systems operations.

Project Management Certificate.

Lean Six Sigma.

Strong time management skills.

Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Experience using Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Visio.
