Customer Service is dedicated to operational excellence and innovative thinking through our workforce in our call center, field operations, billing and payment center, outage and demand-side management and other service offerings.The job is…As the Senior Manager, Regulatory Planning, you will be responsible for managing a team that is the regulatory lead for planning, preparation litigation, and project managing execution of deliverables related to the various proceedings to which Customer Service (CS) is party (e.g. General Rate Case, Customer Programs, CSRP)​. You will be defining, coordinating and where appropriate aligning various CS regulatory positions and ensuring alignment of those positions with the Corp Regulatory strategy, CS and SCE Business Plans, and the financial forecasts for the SCE Operating Plans. You will also support these efforts by understanding the strategic and tactical impacts of regulatory decisions and effectively translating and communicating this information to various audiences both internally and externally.  Specifically, you will need to understand and be able to coordinate and ensure alignment across the various regulatory proceedings, synthesizing the operational, financial and regulatory impacts to CS, and communicate these along with the challenges and recommendations, along with all aspects of the requirements (technical and non-technical) with CS leadership, subject matter experts, witnesses, executive steering teams, and external party forums such as workshops and working groups.  In addition, you will be responsible for coordination of timely responses to key data requests, testimonies, technical papers and additional support as needed. Day to day…

Oversee the development of testimony, data request responses, rebuttal, technical papers, presentation materials and other regulatory documents for regulatory proceedings which the team owns or contributes to.

Lead the integration between internal planning organizations and external regulatory processes and requirements, which requires both (1) communicating regulatory requirements to internal leaders and subject matter experts ensuring those requirements are fully integrated into the affected planning and operational processes and project manage requirements to completion limiting financial impacts to SCE and aligning with SCE strategic objectives, and (2) partnering with SCE’s customer experience, operational, and planning experts to translate customer centric practices into forward-looking strategy and regulatory positions that can be effectively advocated to external parties.  

Collaborate with key leaders and stakeholders across CS, Reg Affairs, Government Affairs, Strategic Planning, Business Planning, and other organizations to develop regulatory strategy and positions that reflect internal objectives for proceedings for which this group owns or participates in.

Will be the regulatory/policy subject matter expert for CS on a variety of the most impactful regulatory matters facing the company.

Manage, guide, and mentor the employees on this team to ensure high quality work products and to develop and advance the skillsets of each team member. Establish department objectives and work plans, recommend organizational structures of functions and units, and determines staffing and resource needs.

QualificationsQualifications you need …

Bachelor's degree or higher in engineering, business, technical or related discipline.

Five (5) or more years of experience managing a team or project management experience.

Demonstrated ability to effectively present complex technical information to non-technical leadership forums. 

Experience or demonstrated understanding of SCE’s customer service processes 

Ability to integrate work across relevant areas, develop and execute business plans, manage risks, manage information, and provide exceptional service to internal and external stakeholders. 

Expertise and demonstrated experience developing regulatory work-product, defining strategic objectives, and advocating before regulatory bodies and intervening parties to a successful result. 

Ability to manage various work streams at the same time, integrate work across relevant areas, develop and execute operating/strategic/resource plans, manage information  

Effective resource and project planning, decision making, results delivery, team building, and the ability to stay current with relevant regulatory and legislative activities.  

Must demonstrate strong ethics, influence and negotiation, leadership, interpersonal skills, communication, and the ability to effectively manage stress and engage in continuous learning.
