CHILDCARE/KITCHEN ASSISTANT
The ideal candidate will be someone who has the energy, disposition, and aptitude to work with young children and teachers. Must be comfortable in a fast paced environment. Must enjoy working with people.
We provide children with nurturing and positive interactions every day. We are looking for a friendly, positive person who can learn appropriate techniques for working with young children.
The Childcare/Kitchen Assistant will assist the classroom teacher in every aspect of the daily program which will include, daily activities that may be messy, painting, playdoh, singing, dancing, playing, talking, interacting with children; personal care routines including eating, toileting, diapering, cleaning up; napping which will include setting up the nap room mats, sheets, blankets, as well as laundering weekly; center clean up which includes cleaning kitchen, classrooms and outdoor areas, sweeping, mopping and vacuuming as necessary.
You will prepare and serve morning and afternoon snacks, clean the kitchen as well as ordering and inventory for kitchen and preparing snack menus based on licensing regulations.
We are looking for someone who will be dedicated to working with young children. Experience and ECE units is desired, but not necessary.
REQUIREMENTS
Education: Some ECE/CHILD DEVELOPMENT is preferred but not required.
Experience- desired but not required.
Ability to stand comfortably the entire shift.
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs
Must be able to bend, squat, stand, sit and get up and down at children's level throughout the day comfortably without any movement restrictions.
Must be able to hear and speak adequately, take instruction and to communicate and hear children.
Ability to learn on the job appropriate interaction strategies and licensing rules and regulations.
Must be able to carry out duties with a high level of accuracy.
Honesty, integrity and high motivation is required
DOCUMENTATION REQUIRED PRIOR TO EMPLOYMENT
CLEAR fingerprint clearance completed (no exemptions/no criminal background)
Physician's Report: Good health status and TB test clearance is required prior to employment
Copies of immunization records for MMR, DTAP, and flu shot (or flu waiver) required prior to employment
Mandated Reporter Training Certificate (on-line 3 hours) required prior to employment
Pesticide Training (online) required prior to employment
Transcripts (if applicable)
TO BE COMPLETED WITHIN 1-2 MONTHS OF EMPLOYMENT
CPR, First Aid Certificate or must obtain within 2 months of employment and keep current every two years.
Health and Safety Certificate or must obtain within 2 months of employment. (does not expire as long as you
have your certificate)
Hours: Monday through Friday 8:30-4:00 pm.
Salary: $11.50-13.50 to start depending upon education and level of experience
