ETL Developer (SSIS) Dept: IT Health Informatics City : Sacramento 95616 (hybrid of remote and occasional onsite for meetings etc.) Responsibilities The ETL Developer is on the Data Acquisition and Architecture team in the IT Health Informatics department, supporting the Health System's development of data assets to manage clinical applications and health analytics. This position participates in all aspects of the design, development, implementation, and maintenance of ETL programs. This includes requirements gathering, data retrieval from a variety of clinical, financial, purchasing, HR, and other critical data sources, validation, and curation, database administration, and translation of data into usable, well-documented data structures. This individual may also participate in strategic initiatives and business development by evaluating and enhancing our suite of BI/analytics tools and advising on an integrated data warehousing strategy

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in computer science, clinical informatics, statistics or related field and/or an equivalent combination of education, training and professional experience. Minimum of five years of experience in clinical data management from various healthcare software systems or equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Proficiency in Structured Query Language (SQL); experience with query tuning and optimization in MS-SQL Server and/or Oracle. Comprehensive understanding of database processes, technologies, and tools including ETL Tools, particularly, SQL Server MS-SQL Demonstrated knowledge of data modeling/architecture principles. Demonstrated experience translating customer requirements into technical specifications and documentation. Experience developing and using logic and flow diagrams to describe the functional processes of a system that both end-users and programmers can understand. Excellent organizational skills to determine and prioritize workload to enable timely completion of tasks. Experience identifying, communicating, and resolving problems in a collaborative, professional manner. Experience working in a structured Software Development Lifecycle methodology (SDLC). Proficiency with various office software tools such as Microsoft Project, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio.

Preferred Qualifications Master's degree in computer science, clinical informatics, statistics or related field. Familiarity with visualization/analytics tools data into actionable information via graphical representations. Demonstrated experience creating and presenting oral and written material to audiences with varying levels of technical expertise. Experience in Health data management in a complex health system. Familiar with Data Governance and Meta-Data management tools like Collibra. Demonstrated customer service skills. Knowledge of project management processes.
