OVERVIEWThe Judicial Council of California is accepting applications for the position of Senior Talend ETL Developer (Senior Application Development Analyst) in the Administrative Systems Development unit of the Information Technology office. The Senior Talend ETL Developer will work with judicial branch architects, judicial branch data architects, judicial branch technical teams and external service providers to establish a shared service ETL platform that will be used by multiple teams throughout the agency. The SADA will provide leadership and vision in developing a shared service ETL platform that supports the multiple strategic data initiatives, improves data quality and standardization, and promotes reusability. The incumbent will also work closely with the business application team, end users, external service providers, and other teams to gather and understand extract, transform, and load requirements. From the defined requirements, the SADA will create technical designs, develop, and test the ETL processes.Additionally, the SADA will work with judicial branch architects, judicial branch technical teams and external service providers to maintain and support the ETL platform. The SADA will identify and apply the patches and/or upgrades necessary to maintain technical viability and alignment with branch strategy and vision.The Judicial Council strives for work life balance and includes substantial vacation and holiday time. Hybrid (in-office/remote) schedule for 2022.RESPONSIBILITIES- Perform SAP Application Engineering duties for Phoenix (SAP) system:
- Under the direction of the SAP Enterprise Architect, design/redesign the architecture for hardware and software that meets the requirement of the Phoenix program.
- Participate in the identification of requirements related to the procurement of services for the JCC
- Present technical requirements and design to the ITSO Technology Team for approval
- Plan for technical hardware and software changes
- Perform Technical Lead activities for Phoenix Project:
- Assign and review the technical work for SAP technical team members. Identify the technical tasks that need to be done by the team
- Provide leadership to the technical process involving annual Disaster Recovery (DR) exercise at CCTC.
- Review the technical procedures and steps executed during this disaster recovery exercise
- Perform duties of the Technical Project Manager:
- Create and maintain technical project plans
- Participate in the meetings with CCTC datacenter vendor and cloud hosting vendors
- Monitor progress and report status to the Project Management Office (PMO)
- Provide technical oversight for consultants and other SAP Basis team
- Develops project plans and reports on progress to the Phoenix Supervisor.
- Plans, organizes, assigns, reviews and evaluates the work of assigned SAP Basis staff and consultants.
- Provides direction, training and work review; organizes and assigns work.
- Provides input into selection and evaluation of Phoenix consultants and staff
- Perform SAP Basis Administrator duties
- Tune SAP system parameters to optimize the performance of the application
- Update the tax rules using BSI application
- Perform SAP Installs, Upgrades and Migrations
- Perform SAP Application Security Administrator duties
- Make sure that the SAP application data is encrypted across the WAN
- Maintain application authorizations for SAP and RWD for all end users of Phoenix
- Create new roles in the application as per the business requirement
