Eclaro's customer is searching for a Sr. DevOps SRE Engineer to join their team.

This is a 6 month right to hire opportunity. This Engineer will be responsible for operationalizing software and systems products and for delivering automated processes that support the ability of IT to scale in support of our customer's growth and change. The role's purpose is to build resilient, reliable and scalable database, web and API infrastructure. The Reliability Engineer is responsible for the availability, performance, monitoring, and incident response, among other things, of the platforms and services that the company runs and owns. This classification requires advanced knowledge with applications, programming & database administration

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES
  • Applies advanced level knowledge to operationalize software/systems engineering development in a DevOps team environment and in the design of reliable, scalable, and observable distributed systems in the Data Platforms and Infrastructure space.
  • Leads, in a team environment, in scaling the product design architecture to support growth in IT development while keeping our systems fast and reliable.
  • Develops/implements methods to expand infrastructure & systems capacity across multiple platforms.
  • Implements monitoring and alerting tools that can keep track of both system-level and business-level performance and ensures that service disruptions are minimized.
  • Ensures that everything that goes to production from software or systems engineering complies with a set of general requirements such as diagrams, runbooks, scripts or other methods for troubleshooting and resolving service disruptions, dependencies of other services, monitoring and logging plans, backups and possible high availability setups.
  • Provides methods to expand the configuration and container management infrastructure to enable rapid deployment of new services.
  • Collaborates with security engineering to perform security audits and assist in making recommendations/improvements to keep IT systems secure.
  • MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
    • BA/BS or MA/MS in Computer Science or related subject or equivalent combination of education and experience.
    • Minimum of eight (8) years of experience related to data center or applications programming or database administration.

    REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE:
    • Linux & Windows
    • Azure
    • Hyper-V, VMware
    • Database Administration: SQL Server, MySQL, Oracle (Oracle preferred)
    • Knowledge of and experience with monitoring solutions (SolarWinds preferred)
    • Scripting: PowerShell, Perl, bash, etc.
    • Automation experience: Puppet, Ansible, etc.

    SKILLS AND ABILITIES
    • Effective verbal and written communication
    • Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced, team environment.
    • Detail oriented and accurate.
    • Effectively assess tasks / tech debt / new incoming workload and apply industry best practices to automate how those issues are addressed.
