We are looking for a new person to lead our kitchen. The position is for a diner in the downtown Sacramento area. Location will be revealed after initial contact as to not cause conflicts with current staff. Candidates will need at least 3 years experience in a kitchen leadership position and must possess very good line cooking skills, especially for breakfast. Duties will include
- Hiring and managing kitchen and dishwasher staff
- Lead, train, and schedule kitchen staff
- Oversee daily kitchen operations during breakfast and lunch service
- Ensure food quality, consistency, and presentation
- Manage inventory, ordering, and food costs
- Maintain cleanliness and food safety standards
- Work closely with front-of-house management to keep service running smoothly
- Up to 55 hours per week and under certain circumstances be willing to fill in off days. Requires early mornings starting at 5am
- Help with menu innovation, come up with new recipes and menu ideas
