Job Title: Shipping Clerk

Position Overview:

As a Shipping Clerk at Sinister Diesel, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth flow of products from our warehouse to customers. You will be responsible for preparing, packing, and shipping orders with accuracy and efficiency, working closely with the warehouse and sales teams to meet tight deadlines. Your efforts will help ensure that our customers receive their orders promptly and in perfect condition.

Roles as a Shipping Clerk

Order Processing: Reviewing orders and preparing them for shipment, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.

Packing: Carefully pack products according to established guidelines to prevent damage during transit.

Labeling Shipments: Printing and affixing shipping labels to packages, ensuring that they are properly addressed and meet carrier requirements.

Loading and Unloading: Assisting with loading shipments onto trucks or other vehicles and unloading incoming shipments.

Inventory Management: Keeping track of stock levels, notifying supervisors of shortages, and assisting with inventory counts.

Shipping Documentation: Preparing and managing all necessary shipping documents, such as packing lists, invoices, and customs forms.

Carrier Coordination: Communicating with shipping carriers to arrange pickups and deliveries, and ensuring adherence to schedules.

Tracking Shipments: Monitoring the progress of shipments and updating records or customers on delivery status.

Quality Control: Checking products for defects or damage before packing and shipping to ensure customer satisfaction.

Return Processing: Handling returned items, including inspecting, restocking, and coordinating with other departments for follow-up actions.

Data Entry: Inputting shipment details into tracking systems and updating inventory management software.

Safety Compliance: Ensuring adherence to warehouse safety standards, including using appropriate equipment like forklifts or pallet jacks.

Handling Hazardous Materials: If applicable, handling and shipping hazardous materials according to safety regulations.

Maintaining Cleanliness: Keeping the shipping and receiving areas clean, organized, and free of hazards.

Customer Service: Communicating with customer service department regarding shipping schedules, delays, or issues, and resolving any shipping-related concerns.

Requirements to be considered for this position: (Please do not apply if you do not meet these requirements)

Computer knowledge and proficiency (You will be working with computer systems every day all day)

High school diploma or equivalent.

Proven experience in a fast-paced repetitive position with high accuracy.

Ability to use hand tools (Box cutters, Tape Guns Etc.)

Ability to read and understand work instructions, diagrams, and blueprints.

Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Good communication skills and a positive attitude.

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.

Basic knowledge of diesel engines and automotive parts is a plus, but not required.
