Woodland manufacturer seeks a detailed individual to fill a Journeyman Level Manual Machinist position.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Machining using lathes, mills, and manual machining techniques.
Machine parts to engineered specifications
Responsible for the safe operation of equipment and promoting a safe work environment
Contribute ideas to improve output
Take accountability for the quality and accuracy of the parts
Learn non-standard machining techniques and open to new ideas
Set up, tool, operate and inspect parts
Have a positive attitude towards challenging tasks
Perform preventative maintenance on equipment
Start, observe and control machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining
Calculate and set controls to regulate machining factors (i.e. speed, feed, coolant, etc.)
Be flexible and effectively communicate project status
Have strong aptitude for mechanical designs and custom machining operations
Be able to read, interpret and apply schematics relating to designs
Effectively communicate at all levels of the organization
Prioritize and meet deadlines
Pump repair a plus
Education:
High school diploma/GED and/or a certificate in a technical discipline from a formal or technical trade school
Experience:
Minimum five years manufacturing experience
