Job Details

Manage implementation of platform and drive key platform advancement.Perform hands-on tasks as well as supervise a small team of automation specialists and biologists.Lead all aspects of operations, assay validation, and execution.Ensure efficient operation of the platform, and identification of supplementary technologies to enrich platform approach.Maintain a rigorous, automated testing environment.Ensure robust and high-quality assays using efficient use of automation and instrumentation.Help to build and implement platform benchmarks and success metrics for continual monitoring of improvement across entire platform from screening to candidate nomination.Proactively contribute to the optimization of screening operations including sample management and data analysis.Provide state-of-the-art core services and guidance to researchers on experimental design and best method or technology to address a particular scientific question.Proactively monitor technological developments and new platform applications.Responsible for ensuring efficient budget administration and for reporting activities of the platform group.Deliver data, contribute to critical data evaluation, and provide disciplined leadership to project teams.Augment our toolbox of biochemical/biophysical assay and characterization techniques to address the specific needs of targeted protein drug discovery.Collaborate with scientific and business leadership to uncover and assess novel technologies or processes to expand platform capabilities and relieve bottlenecks before they arise -through both internal build and business development activity.

PhD in Molecular Biology, Bioengineering, Biochemistry or related discipline.5+ years of experience in biotech/pharma industry with a track record of platform discovery with PCR/NGS technologies.Passion for learning new technologies in the pursuit of more precise readouts.Proficiency in lab automation Experience setting QA/QC standardsDemonstrated ability to think strategically, direct assay execution, draw sound conclusions, and communicate research results.Demonstrated leadership skill. Proven ability to direct teams of scientists and work with multi-disciplinary teams in a matrix environment.
