The Harvest Family of Companies is a nationwide food distributor with more than 6,000 retail and food service partners. On March 2017, we merged with Sherwood Foods in Detroit, Michigan to form the now largest independent food distributorship in the USA.

Financial Planning and Analysis Manager

Primary Duty:

The Financial Planning and Analysis Manager is responsible to assist with increasing profitability, processing efficiency, reducing costs and overall business improvement. This includes working closely with management and developing standardized reporting, to ensure accuracy and integrity of data. In addition to engaging in several key margin management processes, they will be involved in short and long range planning.

Essential Job Functions:

The Financial Planning and Analysis Manager will be responsible for overseeing financial analysis, modeling, forecasting, long range planning and reporting efforts to support company management and ensure efficient financial operations.

Analyze current and past trends in key performance indicators including all areas of revenue, cost of sales, expenses and capital expenditures.

P&L and cash flow forecasting in addition to formal forecasting, responsible for constantly evaluating revenue and expense trends and their potential impact on the Plan and most recent Forecast

Lead company budgeting process

Monitor performance indicators, highlighting trends and analyzing causes of unexpected variance.

Perform reporting and analysis to support the business.

Develop financial models and analyses to support strategic initiatives.

Analyze complex financial information and reports to provide accurate and timely financial recommendations to management for decision making purposes.

Support management team and departments heads with in-depth analysis.

Manage capital planning and utilization.

Research industry insights and create benchmarking.

Lead business case development and testing analysis.

Supervise a Senior Financial Analyst.

Implement and manage financial planning and reporting tools, as needed.

Qualifications:

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business or a closely related field

4 years' experience in financial analysis, financial/strategic planning, accounting and/or budgeting

MBA in Finance, Economics or a related field is preferred

CPA or CMA certification is preferred

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Ability to create reports and presentations for senior leadership

Demonstrated ability to complete quantitative and qualitative analysis and to run financial models

Proven experience in effectively working with senior leadership

Experience leading projects and people

Strong cross team collaboration

Advanced level proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook
