Hi there!
We’re looking for a fun, kind, and dependable respite worker to hang out with our son Benjamin, a 17-year-old with Down syndrome and Autism. Ben is funny, full of personality, and loves music, dancing, and laughing.
What we’re looking for:
- Someone who is fun, energetic, and lighthearted
- Enjoys getting outside, going on adventures, and being active
- Has experience working with kids or adults with disabilities (especially those with higher needs)
- Ideally pursuing or has completed an undergrad degree in a related field (education, psychology, special ed, etc.)
Schedule & Pay:
- Saturdays & Sundays, flexible hours — ideally around 10am–3pm
- Up to 10 hours per weekend total
- $30/hr ($18/hr through SDRC + $12/hr supplement from us)
-We’ll cover any activities, lunch and gas
Activities might include:
- Going to the beach, park, or movies
- Attending sessions at Gigi’s Playhouse (a community center for kids/adults with Down syndrome)
- Listening to music, going for walks, watching TV, or any other fun outings that gets Ben engaged and smiling
