The Senior Network Engineer will perform, design, and implement Naval Messaging IT systems that require the integration of diverse and complex components . Duties and Responsibilities:- Applies extensive technical expertise in Naval Messaging systems, Microsoft Operating Systems, Cisco networking technologies, VMWare ESX, CMS handling, has full knowledge of other related disciplines.
- Activities include creating a problem statement, defining operational requirements including integration with other systems or components, researching and modeling the system architecture and configuration, investigation alternatives, cost analysis and estimation, and decision analysis.
- Implements Naval Messaging systems in the lab environment, performing and documenting system testing and analysis.
- Collaborates with stakeholders within the Naval Messaging community to determine design constraints and performance effectiveness.
- Performs functional analysis, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate requirements into hardware and software specification.
- Provides specific, detailed information for selection, implementation techniques, and tools for the most efficient solution to meet business needs, including present and future capacity requirements, facility requirements (including floor layout, power & cooling, network connectivity), data storage, backup, monitoring, operations systems, directory services, identity management, access management, and automation.
- Requires 5 (five) years of experience supporting systems integration.
- Minimum of 2 (two) years supporting networking on DoD programs.
- The candidate should be familiar with military networking environment.
- DoD SECRET clearance required, and must be able to obtain a TOP SECRET clearance.
- CSWF IAT II required (e.g. Security+ CE, CCNA Security, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, CNS, or SSCP)
- VCP Familiar with Navy COMSEC requirements
- Familiarity with Microsoft SQL is desired.
