Senior Mechanical Engineer Location: San Diego, CA Work with Device Engineering Design and Manufacturing groups to develop robust, sustainable components, mechanisms, systems and finished products or equipment. Job Qualifications: Required: 5 years related experience, or the equivalent in appropriate education and experience. 3 years experience using CAD systems, preferably SolidWorks 2019 Experience with data acquisition, analysis, and statistical methods. Has experience with material selection and mechanical part / tooling fabrication processes. Experience with sheet metal design and fabrication, plastic injection molded part design tooling and qualification Experience with tolerance analysis Ability to read, analyze, and interpret mechanical project documents. Ability to present technical information and to effectively present proposals. Mathematical Skills: Ability to apply mathematical concepts to statics, kinetics, strength of materials, reliability testing, statistical analysis. Reasoning Ability: Able to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Strong communication skills: Able to gather feedback from various stakeholders, communicate complex mechanical concepts to cross-functional teams, and effectively interface with external partners and vendors. Desired: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering Ability to utilize analysis tools such as FEA, etc. Knowledge of international standards applicable to medical devices, including ISO 60601-1.
