Location: San Diego, CA Position Type: Contract Job Summary: The early drug discovery team in the Oncogenesis Thematic Research Center (TRC) is seeking a RESEARCH ASSOCIATE (1-year contractor) to assist the high-throughput screen to uncover novel substrates of E3 ligase complex as novel drug candidates for the treatment of various cancers. Specific job duty includes the following: 1) Perform high-throughput screen, quality control and data upload; 2) Molecular cloning and generation of stable cell lines. The successful candidate will work collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary environment and will have the opportunity to work closely with discovery project teams and scientists across the Oncogenesis TRC functional areas. Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following: -Plan and execute scientific experiments related to one or more programs -Design research protocols in collaboration with the principal investigator -Assist senior researchers in executing, conducting analysis and reporting results -Perform high-throughput screen to uncover novel substrates of E3 ligase complex -Conduct various cell based assays to characterize drug candidates Qualifications: -Familiarity with literature and internal best practices to identify opportunities to improve productivity and quality of work -Bachelor's degree in a scientific discipline with 1-3 years of wet lab research experience -Strong math skills for routine calculation -Excellent time management, organizational skills and multitasking -Highly motivated and strong team player with a high degree of independenceVacancy expired!
