- This role is a software development position. One focus will be developing software ranging from prototypes (proof of concepts) to production. A second focus will be on the 3D domain, working with tools like Unreal to deliver virtual experiences.
- You'll be responsible for creating virtual scenes in Unreal; leveraging/modifying/finding 3D assets, creating the scene with lighting/camera, working with virtual characters (e.g. Metahumans), and handling motion data. Longer term, this may include creating apps with virtual characters for UX interaction.
- The development stack will vary based upon whatever it takes to accomplish the goals; thus candidates should have a good breadth of knowledge and be comfortable in quickly bringing new concepts to life with whatever resources are available. The output will be presented to partners and customers.
- You’ll be helping to define and develop user experiences that are comfortable and effective for the customer's needs.
- You will help to not only define the system architecture, but to speak to its pros/cons thoroughly and welcome all input/changes. You should be comfortable with mentoring in areas of your strength and learning in areas lacking depth.
- 3+ years of related experience with a BS in Computer Science or equivalent is desired
- You will possess a solid understanding of JavaScript/Node/React, Python, and some server-side development.
- Preference is experience with AWS services, but other services are fine.
- User interface development experience (e.g., JS/React, Qt, etc.)
- You should be very comfortable with both Linux-based and Windows environments.
- Nice to have experience using embedded boards like nVidia Jetson, Raspberry Pi, Arduino, or equivalent.
- Excellent communicator who is passionate about quality, reliability, and simple design.
- Experience working in an Agile/Scrum/Kanban team environment is helpful
- Experience with building out RESTful services locally and/or in the cloud
- Experience building simple hardware projects using embedded devices and developing the accompanying software (schematics, PCB layout, soldering, etc.)
