ETM II Systems Technician

ETM II Systems Technician supports the NITE (Naval Integrated Training Environment) based in San Diego, CA. and performs the following duties: • Operates and maintains Windows, and Linux computers providing real-time tracking solutions of instrumented naval craft in support of the Navy's Southern California Tactical Training Range.• Operates and maintains WAN/LAN network equipment, Timeplex equipment, Cisco equipment, HF/UHF/VHF Radios, and encryption devices.• Perform other duties as assigned by the Section Supervisor or Group Lead Technician.• Operates real-time Red Hat tracking computers.• Maintains HF, VHF, UHF radios and in-water telephone communication systems.• Assist in Data Product Creation for post OP debrief.• Operates and maintains various score tracking systems including LATR, PCCU, Intuicom, Iridium, AIS, IFF and in-water tracking system.• Candidate must have the ability to obtain an Interim Security Clearance (or transfer) in a timely manner, and maintain a US Government (DoD) Secret Clearance for this position on the SCTTR Contract.• Basic and some advanced technical knowledge to solve routine problems by interpreting manufacturer's manuals or similar documents.• Familiarity with the interrelationship of circuits and judgment in planning work sequence, in selecting tools, testing instruments and is reviewed for compliance with accepted practices.• Three (3) years experience operating, maintaining, and repairing digital and analog electronic equipment and/or electromechanical equipment.• Must be able to maintain and operate, high and low power radar, and microwave components.• Must be proficient in the use of a wide range of electronic test equipment; and be able to interpret engineering drawings and sketches.• Experience with Motorola radio networks, fiber optics; HF, VHF, UHF, and Acoustic transmitters and receivers are desirable.• Create and maintain communication plans as directed.

Required/ Preferred Qualifications:• Preferred knowledge of military operations• Preferred CompTIA Security+ Certification
