Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems located in San Diego, CA has an opening for a Software Engineering Manager 2 DevSecOps This is a dual-hat technical lead role and functional manager position that reports into the DevSecOps Software Department at the Autonomous Design Center of Excellence (COE). This position is responsible for the people, processes, tools, and products to meet the current and future DevSecOps needs of unclassified and classified programs in San Diego, CA. The successful candidate will be working as a full-time DevOps technical lead across multiple programs, and carry functional responsibilities. The manager will coordinate staffing requirements with all IPTs and support all staffing processes, including reviewing resumes and conducting interviews. She/he will support establishment and maintenance of DevSecOps specific processes, design manuals, and common tools for sector programs. The manager will facilitate and promote improvement initiatives, and sharing of lessons learned and best practices between programs. She/he will support technical oversight across the sector, including independent reviews of major programs and support of proposals. She/he will administer the performance evaluation reviews and salary review processes in conjunction with program IPT leaders and the software directorate functional organization to ensure timely, accurate input from the IPT leaders, and consistency across employees in the disciplines/skill areas. The manager will identify the capital assets, indirect, and training budgets required for the personnel to perform their statements of work. Essential Functions Annual engagement survey coordination New business acquisition, proposal and special projects support Support Functional Engineering initiatives Assist with staff workload forecast preparation Identifying and implementing new or improved tools and processes to increase team efficiency Acquire the necessary computers, equipment and tools to enable the team to accomplish their assigned job Program management related duties Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints Leads Engineering teams with program execution Mentor Engineers on all phases of the Program Creates, reviews, and maintains critical documentation Strong interpersonal skills Basic Qualifications: Bachelor of Science Degree, or higher, in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) related field from an accredited institution with minimum of 9 years of experience or Masters Degree and 7 years of experience in Engineering OR Information Technology OR Aerospace Experience with stand-up and support in three of the following DevSecOps technical areas: Continuous Integration, Continuous Test, Continuous Cyber, Continuous Delivery, Amazon Web Service, VMWare on-premise cloud Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Clearance Preferred Qualifications: Advanced degree in a STEM related field (Engineering or Computer Science) Secret or Top Secret Clearance Experience with DevSecOps industry standard design & analysis tools Experience with Agile, continuous integration (CI), continuous deployment (CD) process and practice Strong people and technical leadership skills; experience leading a team Strong team-building/partnership skills Demonstrated ability to create inclusive teams with engaged team members Demonstrated ability to partner cross-department, cross-function and between Program and Functional Homeroom as part of a top performing functional team Demonstrated mentoring and coaching skills Strong technical trouble-shooting skills Knowledge of Functional Homeroom processes (e.g., Staffing, Processes, Metrics, Training) Ability to integrate, engage, and lead team to perform at top level of performance Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
