Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Sr Prinicpal Cyber Systems Engineer to join our team or qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be responsible for System Security Engineering (e.g. cybersecurity, program protection). The selected Cyber Systems Engineer will have experience with Cybersecurity implementations based on DoD, National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), Committee on National Security Systems Instruction (CNSSI), and Risk Management Framework (RMF) processes, policies, and guidelines.

Essential Functions:
  • Technical leadership for managing execution of engineering teams and effective collaboration across different technical domains
  • Experience with non-kinetic effects development
  • Ability to thrive in fast-paced proof-of-concept/prototyping work environment
  • Familiarity with ground and Flight test principles and procedures and relevant field experience
  • Experience with radio frequency techniques including Mode S/ADS-B
  • Familiarity with RTCA/DoD AIMS Specs
  • Programming/software defined radio experience (Python/MATLAB/GNU Radio)
  • Supplier management experience
  • Strong Systems engineering background with emphasis on requirements analysis, and derivation for technical subsystems, ICD development, and component and systems level testing
  • Analyzes user's requirements, concept of operations documents, and high level system architectures to develop system requirements specifications
  • Evaluation of system security configurations for effectiveness and exploitation opportunities
  • Develop and execute complete adversarial cyber testing scenarios against components, applications, operating systems, or complete integrated systems
  • Contribute to the design, development, implementation, and integration of Offensive Cyber Operations tools against platforms, payloads & systems
  • Conduct research on innovative offensive tools and techniques, developing payloads, and manipulating code execution
  • Architecting application security and conducting software evaluations (known risks and/or static and dynamic code analysis)
  • Apply understanding of technical issues surrounding the designing, building, and testing of cyber tools
  • Understanding of computer, network exploitation techniques and methodologies to include application and mitigation techniques
  • Understanding of public exploits and awareness of new/unpublished techniques
  • Contribute to the preparation of technical reports and briefings

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and at least 9 years of cyber-systems or relevant engineering experience (Master's degree and at least 7 years OR PhD and at least 4 years)
  • Experience with DoD Systems Security Engineering activities
  • Understanding of RF principles and theory
  • An Active DoD Top Secret level security clearance with issue or reissue in the last 6 years
  • Ability to work with internal support organizations such as Global Supply Chain and Security
  • Familiarity with system-level test principles
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience work on a multidisciplinary team with writing technical principals
  • Experience developing cybersecurity architectures
  • Ability and comfort to interface with all levels of employees and management
  • Familiarity with aircraft subsystem and payload analysis, using measured or predicted data to drive mission-level or system design decisions
  • Familiarity with MATLAB, C#, Java, STK, AFSIM, Suppressor, or other mission level modeling and analysis tools
  • Experience with ground-based and airborne-based radar modeling and/or signals analysis
  • Experience with electronic warfare systems, including flight test and/or analysis
  • Experience with model based systems engineering tools such as Rhapsody, Cameo, or other system modeling tools
