Inhibrx is a private clinical stage biotechnology company in La Jolla focused on developing a broad pipeline of novel biologic therapeutics. Our expertise in target biology and protein engineering has enabled us to build an innovative and productive research development engine capable of creating therapeutic candidates with unique mechanisms of action. This is further enabled by our proprietary single domain antibody platform which allows us to address complex biology.
We are seeking a Research Associate to join our molecular biology team. The candidate will assist with the following:
Grow and purify plasmid DNA from bacterial cultures (minipreps and midipreps)
Track and manage samples through a large sample database
Prepare and submit DNA samples for sequencing
Design and clone DNA constructs for downstream protein expression
Update and manage an in-house repository of cloning vectors
Monitor, grow and restock chemically competent bacteria for cloning needs
Train and oversee interns within the department
Troubleshoot standard operating procedures and workflows
Maintain current lab supplies needed for the department and re-order as needed to maintain the workflow
Assist with additional projects as requested
Qualifications:
Bachelor's or Associates degree in biological or chemical sciences
1-2 years wet lab experience (lab classes may apply)
Experience with PCR, gel electrophoresis, DNA purification, Sanger sequencing, and cloning preferred
Attention to detail and excellent communication skills are key in our fast-paced company.
