NOC Engineer

  • Assist in maintaining all network security controls and ensure they are properly implemented, monitored, and documented in the change control process in support of SOC 2 compliance.
  • Utilize monitoring, performance analysis, network management, software and hardware equipment to trouble shoot and isolate problems, gauge network performance, and trace data and protocol activity for 45+ remote clinical and administrative sites.
  • Deploy new sites and configure network equipment at all remote sites.
  • Assist with evaluating, designing, documenting, tuning, and setting standard operating procedures and other documentation describing daily duties and team responsibilities.
  • Provide routine maintenance and administration for all Windows Server versions including 2008/2012/2012R2/2016/2019.
  • Provide backup and recovery services for Windows servers using VEEAM and ShadowProtect
  • Provide routine maintenance and administration for all physical servers and virtual machines running on VMware vCenter 6.7.
  • Provide routine maintenance and administration for all networking equipment and appliances including but not limited to routers, switches, 802.11x APs, Web Security Gateways, Firewalls, VPN concentrators and SD-WAN edge devices.
  • Develop and document technical processes and procedures as needed.
  • Provide routine maintenance and administration for HPE Nimble SAN storage system and Brocade FC switching.
  • Provide routine maintenance and administration of Windows AD, LDAP, DHCP, DNS, IIS and File sharing services
  • Provide routine maintenance and administration of mobile device management with Vmware WorkSpaceONE for both Android and iOS devices.
  • Create metric reports on CPU, RAM, storage and networking utilization through SolarWinds, AlienVault USM, SonicWall and Barracuda networking appliances.
  • Provide network security analysis and event correlation with AlienVault USM, Barracuda Web Security Gateway, SonicWall, and Sophos Central.
  • Experience with O365 and Azure AD required.
  • Experience with Azure Cloud administration highly preferred.
  • Experience and knowledge of SD-WAN networking technologies highly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of networking concepts including network segregation, DHCP, DNS, RADIUS, 802.11x, OSI model, SNMP, NetFlow, MPLS
  • Be part of an on-call rotation, expected to resolve networking and service impacting events prior to clinic operational hours in support of our five-nines HA policy of network availability 99.999% up time.
  • Install new / rebuild existing servers and configure hardware, peripherals, services, settings, directories, storage, etc. in accordance with standards and project/operational requirements.
  • Recommend and implement system enhancements that will improve the performance and reliability of the system including installing, upgrading/patching, monitoring, problem resolution, and configuration management.

Position requirements:
  • Requires Bachelor's degree (in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology) or equivalent, and 6 to 8 years of related experience.
  • Requires experience operating in a NOC/SOC environment, responding to network security alerts
  • Experience with O365 and Azure AD.
  • Experience using SolarWinds Network Performance Monitor or other SNMP-based monitoring system
  • Experience and knowledge of ITIL-based processes, ITILv3 or later certification strongly desired
  • Demonstrated knowledge of key protocols such as TCP, IP, UDP, DNS, DHCP, OSPF, MPLS, BGP

Qualification: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent with minimum 6 years of experience in related field or Master's Degree in Computer Science with minimum 5 years of experience in related field.
