Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Includes the following non-inclusive list. Other duties may be assigned. All duties are to be performed in compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and policies and procedures.
  • Manage multiple databases across disparate platforms including Microsoft SQL Servers and data warehouse systems.
  • Proactive maintenance of all database instances (upgrades, patching, integrity check, security control), during normal business hours, and/or, off hours to reduce impact to business operations.
  • Responsible for the overall performance, tuning and backup/recovery of all MS SQL instances.
  • Proficiency in stored procedures, triggers, views, replication, and performance tuning.
  • Implement, maintain and execute data scrubbing/obfuscation scripts for testing, staging and production environment.
  • Implement data retention policies for operational, as well as sensitive data store.
  • Evaluate, recommend, and implement database management and monitoring tools.
  • Troubleshoot and maintain various scheduled jobs and SSIS Packages for maintenance, monitoring, and specific business needs.
  • Design and implement redundant systems for high availability, policies, and procedures for disaster recovery and data archiving to ensure effective protection and integrity of data assets for compliance and audit.
  • Managing Users and Roles for both business user and service account to ensure proper access control.
  • Plan, document, implement and manage custom database structure including data import and validation.
  • Consistently perform data steward functions to safe guard data integrity.
  • Appropriately document issues and resolutions in IT ticketing system.
  • Technical expertise in database and schema design patterns.
  • Partner with Director of Information Technology, Application Developers, Data Center Analyst and various other departments to review implementation requests, provide feedback, deploy and maintain these requests.
  • Conduct code review, data/schema comparison, and query optimization by examining execution plan and profiling.
  • Responsible for SSRS report planning, development, implementation and maintenance.

Education and/or Experience:Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field required. Relevant past experience working with MS SQL Database required (2+ years preferred).
  • Experience with DB change and deployment strategies.
  • Experience with data modeling.
  • Experience working with SSIS Packages, ETL, ELT.
  • Experience interface with third party integration (with, or without API).
  • Experience with data warehousing.
  • Experience with or knowledge of Cloud based solutions and connectivity with on premise systems and replication such as AWS and/or Azure.
  • Experience and/or general knowledge with following compliance and audit requirements (CCPA/GDPR, PII, PCI, SOX, HIPAA, et al).

Knowledge Required for Position:This position requires knowledge of a body of standardized rules, procedures or operations requiring considerable training and experience to perform the full range of standard clerical assignments and resolve recurring problems. Additionally, the following requirements must be met:
  • Working knowledge of computer hardware, software, and peripheral equipment.
  • Working knowledge of the concepts of data communications.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows and Office.
  • Advanced knowledge of SQL
  • Advanced working knowledge of MS SQL Server with specific emphasis on database/table management, index tuning, and performance monitoring.

Language Skills:Ability to read and understand documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively and/or present information to members and employees of organization.

Position Certifications:Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA) or Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE) desired.
