Seeking and experienced Permitting Quality Assurance/Quality Control Specialist
The permitting QA/QC specialist acts as a first reviewer to determine completeness of permit requests, and coordinate with permit requestor as needed to finalize scope and exhibits before request goes to next step. This will increase efficiency and reduce the need for multiple rounds of back-and-forth reviews in the permit process.- Determine whether different types of permits are needed based on an agency's requirements and scope of work (Traffic Control, Encroachment, Right-of-Entry, Right-of-Way, City of San Diego landscape or PUD review).
- QA/QC specialist is responsible for confirming job location using geospatial tools and correctly assigning/confirming associated jurisdictions for the request based on potential impact at work area or associated traffic control.
- QA/QC specialist would work directly with planners or designers to communicate agency-specific requirements and clearly communicate revisions needed in order to meet these standards set by each agency.
- Requires detailed knowledge of the specific requirements and format of each jurisdiction's submittals.
- QA/QC specialist would adhere to jurisdiction specific checklists/guidance to assess the completeness of exhibits as provided by the requestor when request is created in K2 or other systems
- City of San Diego (and other cities as determined by supervisor) specific requests would be reviewed for scope and determine permitting effort required (full permit or TCP only/Sidewalks blockage).
- QA/QC specialist responsible for assessing job scope as written and communicate with requestor as necessary to confirm specific scope in order to help clarify work plan when submitting to Agencies.
- Provide design review services in alignment with jurisdictional requirements for Right-of-Way and Traffic Control permits.
- Provide feedback and training to permit requestors to develop consistency between construction plans and to submit accurate designs and Traffic Control Plans to agencies to help minimize the number of submittals necessary to obtain a permit.
- Coordinate with designers and planners to obtain all documents needed for permit applications prior to the permit administrators putting together the applications.
- Act as liaison between permit requestors and permit services administrators to help facilitate a high level of accuracy and consistency to permit applications.
