About the Team

Coming up with the right features is one of the hardest, most time consuming parts of machine learning. We are the team that simplifies this task of Feature Engineering for our users by making it a first class citizen of the Michelangelo ML Platform: authoring batch and streaming feature pipelines, scalable infrastructure for serving features for offline training and low-latency (real-time) serving, and monitoring the quality of production features. In addition, we are building a new Feature Intelligence layer that allows Data Scientists to seamlessly discover features relevant to their machine models, automatically transform them for optimal use, and detect any training-serving skew. Combined with AutoTune hyperparameter search framework, we are laying the foundation for automated machine learning.

What You'll Do

Design and deliver software and tools as part of state-of-the-art machine learning platform
System architecture design, including management of upstream and downstream dependencies
Drive efficiencies in systems and processes through automation: capacity planning, configuration management, performance tuning, monitoring and root cause analysis
Participate in periodic on-call rotations and be available for critical issues

Basic Qualifications

Proficient in one of the following programming languages: Java, Scala, Go, Python, C/C with flexibility to switch across programming languages used by the codebase
Ability to write error free, scalable, but well abstracted code
Debug complex issues related to scalability, concurrency or race conditions
Strong background in Computer Science with deep understanding of algorithms and data structures

Preferred Qualifications

Expertise with Machine Learning and Hyperparameter optimization techniques
Experience with Data Engineering at scale using Spark or Flink
