We are seeking a passionate Applications and Operations support person for SAMS Technology. This is an opportunity to be a member of an Application Support team that oversees application availability for Schwab Asset Management Solutions (SAMS). SAMS is an industry leader in providing investment products - ETF's, Mutual Funds, and Money Market Funds and research products (Schwab Center for Financial Research) to our clients.

The support role will collaborate with multiple Schwab Technology teams and Investment Management professionals to ensure trading and portfolio systems meet daily application Availability targets. Candidates must have experience working in the Asset Management industry with a focus on predictive outcomes to ensure high application availability.

What you are good at

An ideal candidate will enjoy belonging to an impactful and growing Operations team, be process and data oriented, have strong communication skills, and have experience conversing with Technology and Business Leaders. Other responsibilities include:
  • Experience working in an Investment Management firm with knowledge of the trade life cycle
  • Ability to quickly analyze issues and recommend solutions
  • Knowledge of Equity, Fixed Income and Multi Asset products.
  • Desire to support custom applications as well as vendor third party vendor applications. Familiarity with Blackrock Aladdin application is desired
  • Adhere to team KPI's and standards for the organization in areas of Application recovery and availability
  • Support Lifecycle Management processes to ensure production upgrades and server "end of life" activities are properly validated
  • In depth knowledge of the Asset Management domain (applications, trade life cycle work flows, etc)

What you have

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field or relevant experience
  • 3+ years of experience working in an Asset Management firm with knowledge of applications and tools used to support the trade lifecycle.
  • Must be self-starter, very detailed and analytical, and have a curious mind that enjoys digging into how things work and continuously strives for improvement
  • Works well in a dynamic, fast-moving, and collective work environment, with a positive attitude and solid work ethic.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the technology and business organizations
