The organization is the nation's largest cable provider to small and mid-size businesses and has emerged as a force in the Enterprise market, recognized by leading industry associations as one of the fastest growing provider of Ethernet services.Job SummaryReporting to the Director, Solutions Engineering, the Channel Solutions Engineer (SE) is responsible for pre-sale technical training and support of Masergy's portfolio of Network, Security, and UCaaS services for the Channel Partner community. The SE also maintains ongoing life-cycle support with our Channel Partners for evolving/emerging technologies. This person will require a strong understanding of networking protocols, security and Unified Communications functionality, including the underlying protocols, such as BGP, OSPF, HTTP/S, SNMP, SIP, RTP, HTTP/S, SNMP, etc. Additionally, must develop a strong understanding of the use of Masergy's internal application stack. Responsibilities include: Responsible for communicating the value of Masergy's portfolio of services, partner presentations, WAN-LAN integration, architectural design and validation Functional infrastructure design and product selection guidance for Channel sellers Communication of Masergy workflows and processes related to service deployments, operational support and ancillary functions Seamless transition of specific opportunities to the sales teams (QBR/SE) as they emerge Available for partner training, Webinars, Events (both scheduled & ad hoc) Additional duties as assigned by leadership Experience: Must possess the Skills, Abilities and Knowledge: Working knowledge of: OSI model, IP Subnetting, Routing protocols, Network and Security products and services, back office systems, and fundamental understanding of product stack for network, security & UC Technical knowledge of Software Defined Networking (SDN) required Strong understanding of networking design, specifically: Network architecture and function; Routing protocols (BGP, OSPF); Multicast; QoS/CoS Technical knowledge of MPLS, VPLS and Internet routing required Technical knowledge of WAN design and architecture required Fundamental understanding of Unified Communications and VoIP protocols (SIP, RTP) Virtual Private Network Solutions design Operating within a Managed Services environment (Network/Security/UC) SDN, SD-WAN, Hybrid WAN Access circuit technologies & design components (Ethernet, SONET, Broadband, Serial/TDM) QoS Concepts for converged networks WAN resiliency and optimization considerations Network Security solution landscape Strong written and oral communications skills Proven problem solving skills Have a strong understanding of enterprise voice services with the ability to explain basic voice services components Ability to design and discuss a triple play solution (converged network, security & UC design) EDUCATION Bachelor's degree from four year college or university; or an equivalent body of training and experience EXPERIENCE 5-10 years industry experience in enterprise networking or related field experience required Experience with partner/client facing presentations required Project Management experience is a benefit to assist with the planning and oversight of large customer implementations Network and/or Security design experience required CERTIFICATES / LICENSES / REGISTRATIONS Network Design and/or Network Engineering certification(s), or equivalent knowledge Minimum Fortinet NSE 3 certification preferredJob DescriptionCore ResponsibilitiesWork with the product team on new product requirements, integrations and defect resolution.Collaborate with the product team and customers on load/stress and fail-over testing for high-availability deployments.Work with customers to address issues and resolve problems both pre & post -production.Drive continuous technical improvement both internally and with customers.Cultivate and drive technical decisions with customers to design or improve technical solutions.Oversee technical implementation for customer deployment projects.Author customer architecture documentation.Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.Regular, consistent and punctual attendance.
