Microsoft HR is seeking an experienced Privacy leader to manage and lead the overall HR Privacy Program. This critical role will lead the overall strategy, manage a team of subject matter experts, and ensure ongoing privacy compliance, driving program maturity, enabling scalability, and supporting alignment with organizational goals.As part of HR Business Excellence , a global function that provides overall governance, risk management, compliance monitoring, privacy and security assessments, and continuity and response services for all of HR, the HR Privacy Team aims to empower HR to foster a culture of trust through the protection and fulfilment of our people’s fundamental right to privacy.As part of this function, you will play a key role in the delivery of high-quality privacy compliant solutions, driving strategic vision, and managing dependencies, risks, and changes impacting the Privacy Review Program. You can help us achieve our mission.ResponsibilitiesOversee strategy and effectively lead and manage a team of FTE and External Staff across the HR Privacy Program.

Provide overall program management for the HR Privacy across multiple workstreams including: Privacy Reviews, Data Subject Requests, Privacy Incident Response, Inquiry Management, Supplier Compliance, Readiness & Training, Communications, Reporting, etc.

Partner/collaborate across multiple stakeholders across the enterprise.

Mitigate gaps and risks to ensure ongoing compliance with external privacy regulations as well as Microsoft’s internal privacy policies and standards

Apply privacy expertise, knowledge and skills of analysis, business processes, tools, domains, and principles to solve a range of special privacy projects and initiatives

QualificationsRequired Skills & QualificationsBachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience required

6+ years of experience or related legal regulatory compliance in, or supporting, a large enterprise

Understanding of international privacy principles and privacy regulations such as GDPR, HIPAA and the EU Model Clauses

People Management experience with both FTE and External Staff

IAPP Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP) or willingness to become certified within 12 months of hire is required

Preferred Skills & QualificationsMBA, JD or an advanced degree in HR, Risk, or Operations preferred

Demonstrated excellence in stakeholder management, customer service, change management and building productive partnerships at all levels within a matrix organization

Ability to lead through ambiguity and change.

Excellent organization and project management skills – this will require planning, organizing and coordinating, negotiating, establishing effective cross-team relationships, prioritization, and delivery against objectives

Demonstrated problem solving capacity and the ability to make decisions that impact customer service levels with a sense of urgency

Proven team leader & strategic collaborator; able to lead execution of multiple short, mid and long-term projects across organizational & geographical boundaries through great teamwork

Excellent interpersonal communication and presentations skills

Ability to maintain highly confidential and sensitive information

The salary for this role in the state of Colorado is between $148,000 and $222,000.At Microsoft, certain roles are eligible for additional rewards, including annual bonus and stock. These awards are allocated based on individual performance. In addition, certain roles also have the opportunity to earn sales incentives based on revenue or utilization, depending on the terms of the plan and the employee’s role.Microsoft is an equal opportunity employer.
