Your OpportunityThe Director, Cash Sweep Product Risk Management is an essential part of the Cash, Margin, Payments & Account Solutions Team reporting directly to the SVP. This is a central role for a critical product at Schwab with a high impact and significance on the majority of Schwab’s revenue. This dynamic individual will use multiple skillsets independently while also collaborating with key partners among several different lines of business.What you’re good at
Central role for a critical product at Schwab – impacting over 10 million accounts and driving the majority of Schwab’s revenue
Requires the use of multiple skillsets: technical process mapping and analysis, risk identification and mitigation, project management, change management; simultaneously participating with and challenging partners to develop robust riskcontrols
A dynamic and challenging role with high significance
Opportunity to work with a wide range of partners across multiple functions at the firm
Combination of independent work (process documentation, analysis) and chipping in with partners (project management, shared problem-solving)
Design, launch, and ongoing execution of a rigorous change management process for cash sweep
Delivery of process maps, risks, and proposed controls for key components of cash sweep
Successful daily execution of cash sweep processes (both ongoing and one-off interventions)
Successful interactions with regulators and internal risk governance bodies
Handles key business partnerships with Sweep Cash product management, Operations, Technology, Finance (Reg Reporting, Liquidity, Capital Markets), CSIM, Digital, and Operational Risk Management
What you have
Bachelor’s degree required, MBA or other advanced degree preferred
Minimum of 10 years of relevant work experience in product and/or risk management
Outstanding problem-solving, with a strong analytical, data focused work style. Poses a keen attention to detail, but also the ability to see the big picture.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to clarify and handle complexity
Experience with developing process maps and analyzing them to identify critical product risks and potential controls
Ability to engage partners across organizational boundaries and develop “horizontal”, cross-functional dialogue and workflows
Courage to develop and articulate well-grounded, independent perspectives that are informed by, but not decided by, partners’ input
Deep knowledge of Schwab’s systems and in particular cash sweep product processes strongly preferred
